I just bled a cat and hydraulic oil was the same colour. Felt good to get some clean stuff in there, probably never had it done in its 2500hrs.
    Thanks for the video!

Nice work! I always feel better when changing out fluids on a new-to-me machine!

You edited out the best part.

      Which part is that?

Hey Neil, did that whine end up going away after the fluid change? Our 23 model 40 has an occasional little whine to it and I’m tempted to change the fluid early on it as well as the engine. Also, are you going to the 500 hour mark on oil intervals for the engine or sooner?

Is there a procedure to purge the air out of the system after draining, or does the machine do that automatically?

Machine does it automatically. Just fill it up. Run all the controls easy for a few minutes. Then let cool and recheck level.

Was the drain plug under pressure or is it just like draining oil on a car? Read lots of warnings about releasing hydraulic pressure before draining fluid and read manuals that say to do that on my Terex R070T, but could not locate how to do it. But I would think that you would have had oil spraying everywhere if it was an issue with this machine and mine is similar but smaller...

No it wasn't under pressure. The manual is probably talking about hydraulic fittings at cylinders and such where they could be under pressure. The drain is usually in the supply line to the pump or at the bottom of the tank so theres no pressure.

@@NealORussa Thanks for quick reply. Just going out to raise it up now.

@@mikehaglund7283 no prob! I back up car ramps, then use the bucket to lift up the front, then shove blocks under front of tracks and let pressure off bucket. Raises it up 8" or so and no jacks to worry about.

Hi Neal, thanks for the PT30 content on your channel! I recently bought a 2014 PT30 with 630h on it. I just went through and greased all the fittings but wasn't able to find the drive sprocket fitting and the lower axle swing joint fitting (A and L in the service manual). Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks again, -Randy

Hey Randy, thanks for the comment! Looking at the manual, I also cannot locate zerks at A or L. I'll try to look around a little more, but in my manual the side view of the machine doesn't exactly match mine. For instance, the track adjusting tensioner rod is shown in the manual at a very steep angle, connecting near the middle of the track frame. My tensioner is at less of an angle, and connects near the front of the track frame as I'm sure yours does. The image depicted in the manual is of the older ASV RC 30 machines. Its possible those older machines had zerks there, but the manual was never updated. I looked through the parts diagrams for the track torsion bar system and the drive sprocket and there are no zerks at locations A or L.

Yep, i was correct, look at the parts diagram for the older RC 30 in this link. www.trackloaderparts.com/asv-rc30-14-a-undercarriage-assembly-left-hand/
It shows an extra zerk at location A. And it shows bearing cover with grease zerk part #22 at location L. Our newer machines do not have these items.
