Give it time. It will not last, especially if he gets on it quite often. I had mine for ten years now, and I'm nowhere near where this car is power wise, and mine had issues. I'm running a level 10 rebuilt trans now, re-used the AMG blue top solinoids, has a deep trans pan, and a tci 2800 stall. I've run a best of 13.29 @103.

That FTI is going to help a ton. I'd get a pair of 17x9 Cobras and put a 275 40 or 315 35 drag radials. Those are both 26" tall and will give you a nice gearing advantage. Your mph in the 1/8 is good for mid 11s in the 1/4. You just need to get her out of the hole. Good luck and great content!

I have an '05 Magnum RT AWD and have been following your journey. Amazing what you've done. $25K is cheap for what you've ended with. I wish I had your fabrication skills. Having a stall converter should help a lot but you're leaving a lot of performance on the table with the gear set you have. Great job and, yes, keep us informed of your progress. BTW - my "real" car is a '66 Buick GS with a 462" Stage 2 motor

    • @edjackson4389

I had an 05 Magnum RT with all bolt ons and canned Diablo tune and an FRI 3200 torque converter totally changed my mind on going with steeper gears. The 2.82s worked just fine since the Nag1 trans has a 3.59 first gear. The car still got 21mpg on the highway

    • @ReignitedAuto

      @66gsstage23 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@ReignitedAuto Maybe I'm just old school but I'd go more - 3.55 at the very least. You are making gobs of torque and a stout set of gears would make that car rock out of the hole

@@ReignitedAuto 3.55 is a good cruising gear. You probably won't run 150 on the top end but I'm guessing that's not what you're after anyway. In OD you can probably run at around 2,000 rpm at 60 but be a beast out of the hole. Just my opinion from 60 years of building Detroit Muscle. @@ReignitedAuto I love it as well. Unfortunately my wife had a small accident with it about one and a half years ago. The body shop I went to had to remove the nose and repaint it. In that process the body shop lost the driver side air duct to the brakes. Of course the part is not made anymore so it's discontinued. It's a shame because I have kept every single stock part to this car since I bought it right off the showroom floor with less than 10 miles on it. I have the original tires and rims sitting in my garage. I've have the original airbox and air filter. I removed items that would wear quickly such as the shifter itself and the buttons on the dash that lets you turn on/ off the traction control. The car has over 200,000 mi on it but it literally looks no more than 15 to 20 days out of the showroom. My kids grew up in the car (granted never let them eat in it or wear their shoes in it messing up the back of the front seats). Sometime soon I'm going to put a remote turbo kit on it. That way it can be taken off and the car returned to stock very easily.
I've been looking for a long time for the front brake air duct for the driver's side. If you know how I can get my hands on one please let me know. I have been searching everywhere to include eBay, Facebook, and online parts. I would really be indebted to you if you have a connection to get this part.

Always love to see any content at all from you Sky. I do have a few suggestions, which are admittedly from my couch and not on the ground running. Nevertheless a brain dump for you.
    1. I think to put to bed the idea about the supercharger being a limiting factor, I would weld in a second map sensor (Or just run two boost gauges if that works) and see if the supercharger is adding any boost. That would be a really easy way to decide if it has to do with exhaust backpressure, a wastegate, boost controller, etc. Because you are not using the A/C system, you might be able to work with your tuner and use the AC pressure input to the ECU and use that to log. HP Tuners has some maths functions which I believe can help with that.
    2. I don't know very much about the NAG transmissions, but I'm guessing they have a turbine speed vs output shaft speed. You could use that to see if you are slipping (More than expected mind you, not sure if your new convertor is a full lockup or not).
    3. Because the car is fairly heavy, I would throw some gear in the back, but no matter what, I would use an electronic boost controller. Using that, you could dial in boost so that you don't have to pedal it out of the box. You might consider using a smaller wheel so you can run a fatter sidewall also. It was hard for me to tell because of the black wheels, but it seemed like those rear wheels were still 18's or something. Granted, I don't know how small wheel you can go with the factory discs in the back on a Magnum.
No matter what though, both on the dyno and for the most part on the track, it is a bracket racer's dream. It is insanely consistent, and that is worth more than a car that does awesome on one run and then is down 100HP on the next. I do hope you continue to show us updates on this. And I absolutely love the C10, so if you do decide to put a supercharger on that, I'd love to see it. Plus, I would love to see how the AR15 transmission holds up since I'm going to be running one behind a turbo LS myself...

Still haven’t installed the long tubes, I’m planning on stage 3 Texas speed cam and well the bug bit me and I’m looking at a super charger. I decided on the Edelbrock E-Force as for me I feel that is the best option. Not sure if it’s available to you but I run non ethanol gas in my challenger as it sits for periods and with no ethanol it won’t attract water. The Burnet dealership who does my maintenance is surprised how clean my oil is. So I think burning non ethanol does something. The tuner I’m going with is High PSI out of Harker Heights

  • @Smasher-Devourer

Good to see it "finished". That old Cobra blower is probably also holding you back a little. Its not a very big supercharger to begin with. They're fairly cheap because people always move up to a bigger blower. After all, the 03/04 Cobra came with forged rods and pistons from the factory...
My 2006 300C made 411HP/418TQ and ran a pathetic 14.0 at the strip because it was on the stock converter, and I was rusty.
So I'm going to just suggest a converter and more seat time. If you want to get rid of the belt slip and make more power, just get a hellcat blower and use that kit.

I remembered that the Redwood Rally was upcoming and wondering if you were making good progress on getting the Magnum ready. Perfect update at the perfect time. It looks like you have your power on track with what you were hoping for. I would imagine the torque converter helped a lot in getting that power to the ground. If you do get some video of the progress of testing with the new converter, I would absolutely watch that, otherwise I will wait to see all the video from the Rally.
