50 years ago, a masterpiece made history.
Axes ....and still does.
@@governorofthedeathstar1680 53 years and counting!
A bit of an exaggeration. How is 2001 on the same level as the Mona Lisa or Ode to Joy
@@jasonator69er you’re right it’s a higher level
and "thus spoke Zarathoustra" was first played 27th of november 1896 by Richard Strauss himself, more than a century ago
What an amazing collection of classic classics.
Des frisssonnnnsss

This answer changed the world we live in now..Its amazing Kubrick saw today's world in 1968..
Shut up, like beggar.
Dave, just what do you think you are doing?
Great Film and the sequel but the first things that comes to mind is ELVISSS and the Nature Boy AkA RIC FLAIRRRR WOOOOO👍🥂
I’m an amateur pyrotechnician and use this musical score for my opening and the crowd is never disappointed 👍🔥

At age six, the first film I ever saw in a theatre. the reason I became a pilot, sci fi fan and builder of robots.
Wow!
Keep at it man, great job on your work so far!!
Growing up in the 80s and 90s I always attributed this song to silly things. Then I watched 2001 A Space Odyssey. Now I feel this can be played at my funeral.
greatest opening soundtrack of greatest film ever
And the greatest wrestler ever.
Let’s not forget about me Presley too..
ever
Amazing that Richard Strauss was able to take this piece of music and turn it into a much longer epic, shows not only has he fantastic taste in films, but music also! Hates off to you, mate 👍
WOOOOOO
What a fun song
This plays ever morning I hit the can. Great start to the day
I watched another performance where the timpani player was just going wild, pouring everything he had into his performance. So epic.
Só me lembro do Primata batendo com o Osso 🍖 obra prima de Kubrick 2001 uma Odisseia no Espaço
To be the man WOOOO you got to beat The Man
Thanks for the soundtrack today in Ohio!
It always gives me chills to see the passion in the eyes of any conductor
He was totally blissing out!
I will honestly never tire of this.
Me neither.. blue toothing it on max in my car now..!!

Wooooooooo!!!
Not sure it's just a coincidence but this version is exactly 2001 CentiSeconds long.
When the horns do that descending scale...OH! What a set-up for the final flourish! Bravissimo!

I still can't comprehend that this movie came out nearly 60 years ago and still looks visually incredible
True, watched it a few days ago and it's indeed incredible.

Practical effects always do it for me. Practical effects always bring a sense of realism. CGI on the other hand? Eh.
Putting this on full blast with my sub woofers, tweeters, open windows, surround max sound, and yeahhhhhhhh feeelll the powerrr!!
Wao🗯️2001Space Odyssey👏
lmao for a second i thought it was carl sagan conducting
Me too for 2 tenths of second ! ;-)
edo it's quite obviously Robert Carlyle...
Yeah the conductor looks like carl Sagan.
That actually kinda works, as Carl hosted a tv show called "cosmos" in the 70's.
what is the name of this ?? Its like the birth of creation coming to my eardrums
Woooooooo
😗WOOOOoooooOooooooooOoooooooooooOoOoooOoooooo !!!!
This feels so grandiose and epic, just like the film.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"To be the man, you gotta BEAT the man! WOOoOoOoooo!!"
This is my favorite version of the song out of all of the TH-cam videos.
I LOVE IT, I FIND IT VERY STIRRING. I ENJOY HEARING A FULL ORCHESTRA PLAYING CLASSICAL PIECES. WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT THAT'S WHAT THEY PLAYED BEFORE ELVIS PRESLEY CAME ON STAGE, WELL AT LEAST IN CHARLOTTE, NC COLISEUM THE "7" TIMES I SAW HIM (I WORKED THERE '69-'81) GOT TO SEE AND HEAR "THE BLACK WATCH" AND THE "COLDSTREAM GUARDS" BANDS WHICH I LIKED PROFOUNDLY, THEY ARE SOMETHING TO WATCH BESIDES TO LISTON TO AS THE OLDEST MILITARY BANDS.🤔😯😉👍😁😂
Listening to this makes everything epic, I made a sandwich to this and it felt monumental.
Me liatening to this music going to office😂😂😂
This is Ric Flair to me. Best entrance ever.
This music was on the apollo mission when shown on tv
0:57 makes you see the music as well 😍
This is phenomenal...
This represents all the world united to achieve and concord a goal for mankind. Beautiful music.
Με αυτό το θρυλικό κομμάτι, έμπαινε ο ΑΡΗΣ στο Παλαί Ντε Σπορ και γινόταν χαμός από τα χαρτάκια
Under a Carolina sky I stand...
Watching the 2024 solar eclipse with this song
16-Time World Champion, RIC FLAIR!!!
That bass depth though
HAL 2020 Aug 🌌🌌🌌🌌🌌
Wow! I can't imagine hearing this for first time because I grew up hearing it in adverts and on TV. There's such satisfaction when those punches complete the melodies, I swear it's better each time you hear it. I get goosebumps, a sense of awe and pride of man's achievements whilst respecting the talent and hard work to create something so beautiful and powerful
Whew!
So beautiful!!! So much potential and hope.
Brava!! Thank you, I'll have another, please. Simply loved this the moment I first heard it back in the 60's. 👍🏽🤠 2/8/23
This will be forever remembered. Even if not by name. It will be remembered by sound. Everyone has heard this before. Truly, a timeless masterpiece.
Wooooooooooo
Needs more triangle at 1:41 elapsed. I can hear it, but only faintly.
It never gets old.
