Hello Matthew, We typically recommend 1/4" polyester double braid. Some people prefer Dyneema or Spectra due to the low stretch characteristics while others prefer lacing with bungee. If you check out our website, we sell lace kits for most Hobie's made from the 1/4" double braid polyester. Feel free to call or email with any questions.
Very very good video. But there are some things that aren't clear to me.More precisely the final part(i.e. when you finish,,the operations should be carried out slowly; then, how are the 2 ropes of aft tramp tied up together(which Knot)?and ,besides, the rope of center tramp how is exactly tied up(which knot)? At the end, the lenght of the 3 ropes(2 for aft and 1 for center).Thank you very much indeed.
Hello Luigi, thank you for your comment. There many ways that you can finish tying off the ropes and it is not too important that you do it like the video. Starting at 4:30, you can see the rope coming up and going around the lacing at the back forming a "loop"; the rope then passes back through this loop forming a half hitch as mentioned in the video. We recommend using several half hitches to finish off all of the lacing lines. When your knots are complete, we usually cut the rope so there is a tail about 4 inches in length.
Hi there ! Thanks for the video !! Great Job !! I'm confused though. Does the tramp use 3 separate lines or just one. Your video doesn't say and I have enough line to use one line for all. Can't find this info anywhere
We use three separate pieces of rope to lace up our three piece trampolines. The lace kits for these trampolines with additional details can be found on our website.
yeah, this really helps! bought a new one and loved sailing it first time
