we've come a long way from the Dustbuster. I have the milwaukee version, which is easier to empty, because you just release the latch on the container and dump the dirt out; but the weakness of the milwaukee and it looks like the dewalt as well is that the design makes it easy to clog with larger chunks. I've found the best results call for a brush and dustpan to pick up the chunks, and then finish with the vac. they can suck a pull string through a pipe, but not very vigorously. with 2 inch or bigger, a leaf blower will push the line through nicely.
It's true, I think the HEPA filter would be pretty easy to clog up. You could just take off the filter for the bigger stuff, then put it back on for the finer stuff. Of course, you wouldn't have the HEPA protection without the filter on.
@@SparkyChannel you do have to clean or replace the filter fairly frequently, but it's actually the port between the nozzle and chamber that stuff gets hung up in. the milwaukee has a sharp bend in the suction path, and it looks like the dewalt does as well, so chunks fail to get around the bend.
Just dawned on me that looks just like a Dyson vacuum. Lol if you reverse it and hold it by the nozzle the battery would be the part to suck all the dirt up.
Purchased this vacuum and have used it quite a bit over the last several weeks. Great power and lightweight. Very nice vacuum. Having difficulty finding replacement HEPA filters for it. Called DeWalt and they are out of stock.
Interesting, thanks. We love it too. It gets used about every day. We've just been removing the filter and cleaning it. I didn't know about the filter shortage.
I just bought one for sucking clean my cars cowl area. Nice review.
Thanks!

LOL! That's cool!
Is it good for a car?
would love it better if you had a reverse for blowing on the motor
Yes, that would be good.

@@SparkyChannel can you wash the filter? What difference would it make once it dries?

Hello, could u pls help me test a filter for DCV501, I will send you sample
I wish my Milwaukee m12 vacuum lasted that long. That thing eats batteries. It will literally drain a fully charged battery in less than a minute.
Wow! Are you sure your batteries are good?
Check your title Bill, not sure if that's what you wanted💪🤙💪🤙💪
Thanks for the heads up!
