Very interestig video, I learnt a lot from it. From my point of view, the six basics katas are varations of some Saito´s Kata. I mean: Saotome sensei - Saito sensei 1 - 1 2 - is an esception, but it is very like 5 3 - 3 4 - 10 5 - 4 6 - 5 PD: excuse my english, I am spanish speaker PD 2: Chiba sensei jo kata are very interesting too
+Seguel72: Crank the sound on your speakers way way way up. Not just the sound on the youtube player, the sound on your speaker system. The sound is there, but it wasn't until I played it through a second time that I realized it was there at all, by experimentally cranking my speakers to nearly the max. It really is there, right from the beginning. And it is in English. Crappy sound recording, but good instructional video. You might need to push it through an amplifier, like by using a home boom box.
His footwork is amazing.
Thank you for posting this. I cherish my time I was able to learn from Saotome Shihan and his associate senseis
Legend.

Ueshiba used the staff like it was a sword, a spear or a rifle with bayonet, so it's wrong calling it staff.
