I live in China and will be getting mine in a few days, but here it costs $1500 USD vs $2500 in the US. Granted apparently the Chinese version doesn't support Dolby Vision, not a big issue given the savings. Also obviously it doesn't have the English apps lile Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Does China version of Vidda C2 series support DRM L1 (can install an app called "DRM info" to check)? If so, then actually we can apk install Netflix and Disney+ app to run on it natively? This is criticai. Thanks.
@ghoste7546 Hi, I can't confirm this right now. In the end my wife decided there was no rush to purchase as the price wasn't any cheaper during the yearly Double 11 sales. We will be purchasing it though, we're just waiting for our new home to be finished. I can try grabbing the APK for DRM info and seeing if I can manage to install it when I eventually get the projector, but I don't even know if side loading would be possible. I assume that the Vidda OS is really just reskinned Android, but when I went to check out the projector a few months ago, I had a quick flick through the settings menu, but I remember it being pretty limited, I'd be surprised if it's as easy as enabled external app installation, inserting a USB drive and opening the APK. Really the easiest option would be to just use a streaming service through a computer connected via HDMI, that's what I plan to do, I'm going to set up a Raspberry Pi 5 to use as a NAS connected to 90TB of drives, and an Odroid N2+ running Coreelec. Another option might be that the projector is released much cheaper in Taiwan but with Netflix, Prime, etc.
Ive got the C2s and im struggling hard to install netflix. I have installed different version of netflix but in the end shoes error saying version not supported or some just crash close at the start😢@@ghoste7546
Where is that weird hot tub warning from? Bathtubs (and also onsens) in Japan are routinely set to maintain a constant 42C, and most people spend more than 15 minutes. I can’t imagine public onsens in Japan where people go all that way only to spend 15 minutes? It doesn’t make any sense. Also, I spend an 30-60 minutes a day in such a 42C tub for 12 years, and as far as I know there were no ill effects. What is the supposed danger?
Mmm I’m really seeing that crispy 4K with this 480p video…..
LOL
Interested to see how you ceiling mounted it.
What screen did you use?
"Old Man yells at pool"
