looks good. I am looking for a laser to cut out airfoils and parts for my RC gliders. I would be cutting them out of 3mm (eerrr 1/8" to you american folk)balsa wood and ply. Would this laser be suitable ??? I hope you are using protective glasses

This laser would absolutely be suitable for that purpose. And with its built in file storage you could save a part in the laser and cut that out again in the future without having to hook up your computer or anything.
There is also a shield around the laser head that filters the laser beam. I’m careful to not look at it from the side without glasses.
