It's really bad. They basically picked the most generic family for the first one. Not much personality, no chemistry and pretty much the worst team for a new host to get stuck into.
Do you think they purposely positioned Richard to tower over the contestants in every episode? Everyone looks comparably a lot shorter. He's probably about 6'3" with those gold shoes.
@MrMagicOrJesterClown Also, Richard has climbed walls, crawled through tunnels, and ran from zone to zone, in earlier episodes. And you can see that no one can keep up with him. He is in tremendous shape. But he has sustained many injuries. You can see in certain episodes where he has a bandaged hand. I believe he fell off his bike. And he's broken his arm. Maybe he's trying to minimize the risk. Plus, he shouldn't be exerting himself. We need him

I notice he dont go into the tunnels himself, he is a ok. richard o'brien was the best by far
Yeah a TRUE CRYSTAL MAZE LEADER would go through the tunnels himself
Maybe he's claustrophobic or has a bad back or something.
His entire schtick is that he's completely above this format... and he pulls it off magnificently
