Tom Miller i've watch this movie over the years at least 10 to 15 times… And every time this scene comes on, it makes me laugh like it was the very first time I've watched it 😂
Ah what a great movie. Steve Martin was on an amazing hot streak in 87-88. Plains, Trains, and Automobiles, Roxanne, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. And L.A. Story in 91 was pretty good too.
@@musicaltheatergeek79 Planes, trains, and automobiles is in my top 10 for sure. When they meet Owen (the dude that gives them a ride in the back of the truck) and he does that snorting sound, that put me in tears.
I first saw this when I was 6 years old and to this day me, my brothers and cousins still say "Let's try something a little more stringent" at cookouts or when we go out. This scene is hall of fame worthy.
I adore well written humor like this with a tad of physical comedy...when Caine runs from the other room to get in the best smack possible, I died laughing.
3:42 is the single funniest part of the whole movie to me. The silly little running start he takes to whip him in the legs makes me fall out of my chair laughing.
At around 10 years old I saw this in the theater and, when Michael Caine gets a running start and leaps through the air to whip Steve Martin, I don't remember ever laughing that hard at a movie up to that point in my life.
what about the dentist scene in little shop of horrors? i watched that on youtube recently i had tears on my face from laughing so hard...steve was a comedic genius...also planes trains and automobiles
This scene along with the Ruprecht scene still has me in tears of laughter 35 years after the movie's release! My wife and I often have a good laugh about this movie. It's an absolute classic. Sadly, in this time of extreme wokeness perpetually offended and outraged moronic imbeciles, we don't have these kind of classic scenes in Nikita) movies now.
Wow!! Caine and Martin. The "Chemistry" (!!) There ain't been such a comedic opposition like this since the BIBLE: Caine & "ABLE"🤫❤️🔥🌀 *Thine ending may have been of better "bread breaking" *here ..🌬️🕺☔
That look Caine gives him when he leans in and says "I'm here to help you my boy." 😂😂
Ye that's the one that sent me 😂
One of the funniest scenes in any movie ever 😂😂😂
makes me wheeze from laughing so hard...as a kid when he charges at him i thought that was the funniest thing ever
@@kimmyfreak200 the same here. That run up is amazing! I no still go into hysterics now 😂😂😂
Yes! Funniest scene. I saw this back in 88’ when it came out. Steve Martin was a riot.
@@lennoxmate4064 my mom would laugh so hard at this scene... the 80s was the best
@@kimmyfreak200 absolutely! I still get tears in my eyes watching it now. By the way, you have INCREDIBLE eyes.
Love when he says. " the third" sadistically just to whip him again
Love it 🤣🤣
Steve Martin's facial expressions especially at the end is hysterical
Look doctor he's so happy he's crying.
LOL!

🤣🤣🤣
This is just classic comedy! They don’t make movies with good humor like this anymore.
The tried with the Anne Hathaway-Rebel Wilson version.
But it sucked.
@@tiadaid god it was terrible
@@donnn-ow4rj I will second that....it was horrific
Ah what a great movie. Steve Martin was on an amazing hot streak in 87-88. Plains, Trains, and Automobiles, Roxanne, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. And L.A. Story in 91 was pretty good too.
*Parenthood* (1989), *Father of the Bride* (1991), and *Housesitter* (1992) were pretty big hits, too.

Most underrated comedy of ALL time
Underated??? What are you smoking ? 😂😂 this one of Steve Martin's best work among other films
100%
So funny that look Michael Caine gives when he stands up and puts on his glasses on and goes to the vase to get the whip.
“I will have him running, shouting, jumping, screaming “.
screaming...crying! lol
It's the little jump at the end before the last hit for maximum effect haha
"How about....THIS!!!!" Lolol That kills me everytime!
This scene had me crying tears of laughter the first time I saw it 😭😭🤣
This film is an underrated classic
This scene, and the one where 'Ruprecht' is threatened with "the genital cuff" are by far the best, in a very funny film.
haha my 2 fav scenes also...i even looked it up..its a real thing they did
Imagine how much fun she is having watching those two's rivalry.
2018 still laughing 30 years later.
Or my name isn’t Gunter Emil Schaufhauzen......
The 3rd 😂😂😂

Hysterically funny. Tears streaming down face. I saw this in the theatre in 88 (age 17) and loved it! Hilarious!!!
"I saw them....on the dance floor....DANCINGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Steve Martin is such a comical actor
I love her voice. RIP. Also 3:43 😂

He can't believe it's really you!
Yes, I zink zat's it!
LOL
I will have him Running, Jumping, Shouting, Screaming... lol 😆
That run up though 😂
It's a cricket bowlers run up with the little jump for power. Nearly peed.
“Look Doctor he’s so happy he’s crying” 😂😂😂
One of the greatest comedies. Brilliant acting. I teared up laughing at so many scenes.
3:42 is the single funniest part of the whole movie to me. The silly little running start he takes to whip him in the legs makes me fall out of my chair laughing.
RIP Glenne
Drunkn Master That makes no sense.
Such a great film, this scene still cracks me up. Certainly no need for a PC remake.
Funniest scene in cinematic comedy history 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’d probably fail at the first whip 😂

In my personal pantheon of comedies. Big Lebowski, The Hangover, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Caddyshack, this.
And WHAT ABOUT BOB,TRADING PLACES,UNCLE BUCK,DUMB AND DUMBER,THERES SOMETHING ABOUT MARY
And home alone 1 and 2 and the money pit
One of the funnier scenes in movies
Love this movie 😂😂
You won't be feeling Mr Piggy then will you😂😂
Absolutely class scene 🤣
...The third!
Ahh, the audio is out of sync, but at least the crying at the end isn't cut off like the other version on youtube.
The tickling would have broken me
The third 😂😂😂😂😂

Tickel tickel tickel tickel..

FREDDY... FREDDY.. where are you😂😂

The third. 😂🤣🤣😂😂
1:55 tickle, tickle, tickle
This is the point at which the boys should have realised that SHE was playing THEM
How about this? at 3:21 . . . .nothing. ha ha ha.
I wonder if Michael Caine remembers Glenn Headly and how he reacted when he heard she died
Pure comedy lol
To think John Cleese turned down Michael Caine's role and he regretted it afterwards.
I'm glad he turned it down. He'd have overplayed it. Michael Caine was just perfect in that scene.
John Cleese...I would have loved to see him act this... not that I don't love Michael's version
One of my favorite movies, not just among comedies. It's funny and stylish. Caine's restrained version of evil is hysterical.
Hilarious
asmr before there was asmr

Probably one of the most hysterical and subtle facial expression changes in cinema history!
