    Those rod holders have a little nipple on the end to attach to plumbing - to pipe salt water out. Do you recommend connecting those up to tubing or just ignore it and let water spill into the cavity between the outer and inner shells of the boat?

      @ReelReports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gunnel rod holders will drain right onto the deck and out the boat. When we install rod holders into the console and transom, we will connect drain tubes to keep water out of the console and bilge.

      Makes sense. I connected the gunnel rod holders to piping, but they just get clogged and fill up with water - even a single fish scale will clog em.

      @@ReelReports I think I would cut the drain nipples off since your not going to use them to make it look cleaner.

    Looking good Mike. Going to be a beautiful boat for sure. Just curious did it take so long because you customized it or are that backed up with orders?
    My 35 took 3 months,took delivery in July. I feel for you not having your boat during covid!

    What do you bed the mounting plate in?

  • @bricezama6
    @bricezama6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you use single screws to bolt them down, or nut, bolt and washer? Counter sink?

    • @ReelReports
      @ReelReports  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bolted with nut and washer. If you are doing any type of deep dropping or big game, i'd add backing plates too.

    About to add a bunch of 15s to my boat. Did he drill the first hole straight through and then drill a second time at 15 degrees? That seems easier than drilling at 15 in one shot.. Great job on the boat.

    • @ReelReports
      @ReelReports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly that. The second drill was at 15 degrees to the direction I wanted it.

    What's the final cost of the total build because I believe my 26 catamaran Lisle perform in that thing in this setup just as good just saying

    Mike you need to upgrade your Mercury as they just announced the new Verado with 600 HP. Check out the steering on it. Incredible.

      lmao, a 1200lbs motor would sink that boat.

  • @letsgobrandon5811
    @letsgobrandon5811 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That's all nice but you don't describe how to measure angles positioning prior to drilling. Not helpful for someone trying to install a rod holder and doesn't want to f up his boat. Title is "How To Install" not "my configuration".

    This is the longest build ever🤦🏻‍♂️🤣. It’s takes less time to build a yacht. Hope to see it in the water soon 👍
