Oh I love this series. The relationship between Zaknafein and Drizzt and how that all unfolded was my favorite part.

It's probably my favorite book in the Legend of Drizzt series just because it is such a kickass origin story.

    R. A. Salvatore is not only a great author but a great average Joe. I've been a fan of his for most of my life and found out a few years after getting into him that he is from my hometown, in fact he still lives in his childhood home, and it was a privilege to meet him when he would regularly visit the Gamestop in town with his son. He was just another body in the store to everyone else but a giant walking among ants to me. He was always very polite, quick to laugh, and loved talking about games of all kinds. A demonstration of just how down to earth and a cool guy he is, that more than one of our local Barnes and Nobles employees commented about him regularly stopping in, grabbing a coffee, heading to the section with his books, picking one up and writing a small thank you to who ever bought it, sign it, and then return it to the shelf. Sometimes he would buy a book as well and others he would just write thank you's for an hour or two and leave. Some years later a former boss of mine saw me reading one of his books and just casually said, "great guy, use to play D&D and Magic with him back in the day", I then demanded he teach me Magic.

I've always cast aside these books with the attitude of "I don't care about D&D" but your review has me rethinking my previous decisions. This sounds very interesting and I think I'll pick it up to see if it might be for me! Thanks again for another great review on the best tv channel!

I had that same attitude about Dragonlance books for decades. About 3 years ago I decided to try the original trilogy. I now own almost every Dragonlance book and have read 55 of them so far and have loved every one of them. Since then I have collected most of the Forgotten realms books, and read the Dark Elf trilogy. Great start to that series.

I didn’t know a thing about D&D but my friend talked me into reading this book. Now I’m on book 32 of the Legend of Drizzt and it’s by far my favorite series ever

Just bought the book based on this review. Tip - you should put an Amazon affiliate link to the book in the description of your review, that way you might get some cash every time someone buys a book based on one of your videos.

This book is kind of like a marriage of The Lord of the Rings and The Godfather. Great origin story. Love this book. People make jokes about D&D novels but this is as good as anything you’ll find in Fantasy.

Salvatore has said in an interview on the Dungeoncast podcast here on TH-cam that he based Drow society on The Godfather. Obviously with a woman leading the family though. Jokingly calling it The Godmother

This is my absolute favorite series and I am SO glad to see you reading them! Also Zak is Drizzt's father lol. I don't count that as a spoiler cause it heavily hints that near the beginning.

Right now we're at 34 drizzt books with another announced for aan august release. I read the first six in middle school, the first 14 in high school, and then read all 34 a few years ago. Please review each trilogy at a time and get into Drizzt's journal entries. You won't be disappointed.
At the end of the crystal shard, Salvatore wow in the man with the jeweled dagger because he wanted to write another book. ;)
He also has his own world called demon wars. Check out The Highwayman at some point.
He also said the best fight scenes of any author I know.

I'm excited to start this series. I just finished "The Blackest Heart,' which I loved, and I am currently on "The Stone of Farewell." and this trilogy is next. Been recommended to me for many years, so I'm gonna finally dive into it.

Funny thing about Salvatore books. I bought 1/2 dozen or so and without fail all are unreadable, for me, in paperback because font to small. Same problem with the 6 Malazan books I bought. Can't read any of them. And can't afford big hardbacks. Plus, hate holding big ass tomes for hours anyway. Wish reviewers would take a second and just show a close up of a page. Silly I know but with no book stores anywhere near where I live I have to buy all online and take a chance. Sure, I could go kindle and enlarge font, but hate being dependant on electronics. They fail and what do you have? Nothing. Done rambling. Good review btw. Love your passion for books of every genre. True book lover.

I'm always so jealous of your collection. What is the size of the hardcovers you have called? Is it a specific size or am I being stupid/weird/whatever?
Anyway, keep doing what you do! Kove your enthusiasm and you make my TBR list longer with every video ha.
