- Rampage (also known as Protoform X) is the awful result of scientific experimentation gone awry. He is a serial killer and cannibal, with an immortal spark that ensures his twisted brand of horror and misery will live on as long as he does (forever, presumably). Rampage detects and draws strength from the emotions of others, literally feeding on the pain and suffering he causes.
'How droll, a cannibalistic quasi-immortal crab monster who feeds on the terror and suffering of others. I think I shall cut his soul out and make him into my eternal slave, yessss.' -The Real Monster?
Remember, all these experiments were just seeds for what helped Megatron take over Cybertron
BW Megatron is literally the most evil Transformers character imo
The Hannibal Lector of the Transformers franchise. One of the few villains I felt bad for. He was created as a monster and was punished for being a monster.
Yeah, he's even a cannibal like Hannibal. I think Rampage is a lot more sympathetic than Hannibal Lector though, since the Maximal leaders built him as a weapon and just tried to kill him because of what they made him to be.
@@Autisticguywithacamera And all because they wanted to replicate Starscream's indestructible spark no less. If it weren't for the Council of Elders's corrupt practices (carrying out illicit experiments without knowledge from the Maximal people) then maybe Protoform X would never have existed.
I mean, yeah he’s sympathetic owing to his existence, but that doesn’t exactly excuse the tragedies he’s caused. He delighted in causing and recounting them, even if it was also to get someone to finally kill him.

I felt so bad for transmutate, such a sad story.
Their story where they fight for and alongside each other in the comic by the collectors club is just amazing

I *loved* what they did to Rampage in the Beast Wars Uprising storyline. They turned him into a boarderline hero.
One thing I always found really fascinating about Rampage’s design is that considering his beast mode is a crab it would be all too easy to just have his beast mode claw arms be his robot mode arms, but his robot mode actually has a proper set of regular humanoid arms with hands.

3:46-5:05 This just proved how Megatron is in fact EVEN MORE dangerous than Rampage.
He may not have the raw power of Rampage, but he has shown consistently that he has intelligence that may rival that of Tarantulas.
Megatron's intelligence, especially with technology and such, almost always seems overlooked, I think. But that's also what's unique about this Megatron. His intelligence in the field of science and linguistics is actually very impressive and sets him apart from all the other Megatrons. It may also explain why he was the closest to accomplishing his goals.
Yeap, Beast Wars Megatron was a sadist. You can see that he enjoys torturing Rampage.

What I liked the most about rampage was his weapon.
It was basically, a gatling gun that shoots rockets.
The explosions, his tank form and basically immortality, I think he was the mlst powerful predacon, even more powerful than Megadragon.
I've always wondered if he was a Fuzor considering his "multyweapons" forms ranging from a crab to a tank to his true form. I don't think it's ever been confirmed wether he was a regular or Fuzor Transformer.
@@javiervasquez625 I think he was a transmetal, since his beast form had technology, like cheetor flight mode or tarantula car mode while he was in tarantula form.
@@fenrir_Lokison9 You're right he does look more like a Transmetal although i find it curious that he became one considering he wasn't exposed to the quantum surge which first turned Cheetor and Rattrap into their Transmetal forms. ¿I guess he was "special"? That's the only explanation i think would explain his transmetalized Beast Mode.

When the maximal and predacon ships were fighting in outerspace, both ships were serverly damage.
Optimus, in an attemp to save his crew, launched all the stasis pods, that is why in some episodes, they find tjem scattered across the planet.
One of those pods released could have been rampage's.
Or maybe the ship was so damaged, thst the pod flew out of the ship and landed on earth.
If that is the case, then, he was hit by rhe wave of energy that created the transmetals while he was in stasis in his pod.
@@fenrir_Lokison9 I guess that's a possibility although we're never told how long was Rampage's pod floating in space and wether he was indeed affected by the quantum surge while in stasis. My guess would be that he wasn't otherwise some of the Maximals or Predacons would have mentioned such a possibility and yet none of them ever do.
Man they designed some amazing characters on this show! Dialogue and story lines were the best!

No, I don't think the Maximals intended for him to be a monster. They probably didn't know that having a duplicate of Starscream's spark would make him act like one.

I remember being like 13 years old when his episode aired, and then I went to Wal Mart every day looking for his toy until it finally came out. I was super into Beast Wars and Rampage was my pride and joy. A little disappointed with the design compared to the show, but still solid.
My favorite Predacon.
I was lucky enough to get one too. 25 years later it has fared better than some of the other toys.

He was a phenomenal weapon for Megatron. His moxy and charisma were off the charts, if only the writers had let him kill Silverbolt and that drippy spider.
Lol why? Then we would be 2 Maximals short from stopping Megatron and the finale might have ended in a totally different why without Blackarachnia and Silverbolt helping Rhinox to activate the Autobot shuttle and crash into the Nemesis.

The only reason he didn’t was because Megatron had a piece of his spark and could cripple him before he could even try. Heck I believe that Megatron would lose to rampage in Transmetal 2
@@jaidentavira4062 They would all loose to Rampage with the exception of Depth Charge and Optimus Primal Transmetal 2 yet they all managed to survive because Megatron always kept Rampage on line and "plot armor".
They could do a Transformers horror movie around Beast Wars Rampage.

And here we have a prime example of why naming Bayformers after certain characters isn't a smart thing to do.
In the Bayformers movies, Rampage isn't even a Predacon, he's the Deception that Bumblebee fights near the end of the movie.

That wasn't Rampage, that was Ravage. Ravage is a minicon that was, originally, a companion to Soundwave (Along with Buzzsaw, Frenzy, Lazerbeak, and Rumble).
I love how only Megatron was so evil that he thought to desecrate and violate another Transformers soul so as to enslave them.
G1 fans are absolutely deluiosnal if they think G1 Megatron holds a candle to BW Megs.

G1 Megs LOST; BW Megs did what he set out to accomplish in the end, he changed history and won the best wars when he escaped during their trip home. Even as Galvatron, OG Megs was never quite as evil and twisted as his PRedacon descendant. Nor anywhere near as cunning and ruthless. I daresay that pre-Unicron, G1 Megs might even be redeemable. Deep down he was a freedom fighter who wanted equality who lost his way. BW Megs was a greedy SOB who usurped the original Megatron's name and had no scruples or morally redeeming characteristics; *he was a monster.*

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for Transformers Beast Wars Protoform X/Rampage. Transformers Beast Wars Rampage is My All Time Favorite Version of Rampage in The Transformers Franchise and The Late Campbell Lane (1935 - 2014) Did a Legendary Performance Bringing This Cruel and Sadistic Serial Killer and Cannibal to Life.
