Becuase it's a timed race and they were close to the line when the time was about to run out, the Lambo slowed to finish the race on THAT lap, otherwise the race would've gone on for one more lap and the Porsche probably would've overtaken him, therefore he tried to slow up the Porsche and beat him to the line but there was no need to slow down cos he would've won anyway.
