i hope that some people learned about some of the criticism the race got by a lot of people. there are some things you can't change. but also a lot more that went terrible wrong this year... but i want to give credit to the guys who where involved in the english commentary since the german ones (tv and yt!!) are gotten worse year by year. also the classic race at saturday morning was so much better when it comes to commentary. at least you can hear the passion for the sport. it's not a clown show where everybody who get a microphone in front of the face just has to tell how great everything is. nearly no criticism of nothing. only small private drivers / teams got insulted for things they can't change. so thanks for the english guys for keeping up a little bit of the passion which made me love this race in the first place. greetings from germany.
I've listened the whole german stream and I noticed that they presented it as if they were the marketing team. Every 30 minutes a shout out to the audience, the Nurburgring was constantly referred to as the 'thoughest racetrack in the world' etc. As if they were given some talking points.
â@@pjetrsWell they are heard around the track, would be dumb if they wouldn't engage with the audience. The promotion bit doesn't seem that odd to me either, after all one of the commentators is directly from that region, he only profits if the N24 are doing well. The other commentators are gearheads as well so why not share the hobby?
Cut short or not this race was amazing. N24 doesnt need to do much to be entertaining and it does it! This is the second one ive watched and will keep paying attention to this race every year.
24 hours races, specially the NÞrburgring 24h NEEDS IMMEDIATELY a rule where reached 12 hours (half distance) of green flag in the race the checkered flag can be waved and a winner of the race can be declared, just like NASCAR or the Indianapolis 500 do in this long red flag periods due to extreme weather. Aswell moved the race start to Friday to give the opportunity to complete the race with an extra day (Sunday), it's not the first time this has happened in the NÞrburgring 24h since the past decade and it's a shame they haven't done anything to solve it yet. Sorry but there shouldn't be an official winner of this race.
Well you're ignoring a lot of things in your calculation though. Race start on a Friday? Most people have to work on Friday, that would most likely mean a big drop in spectators, I don't see why anyone would want that. That would also mean they would have to start the first sessions on Wednesday which isn't ideal either since that mean two work days with N24 sessions instead of one. Why would they continue the race after a red flag? There isn't a single 24h race in that world that gets extended due to red flags, not one. Le Mans or Spa also have to end after exactly 24h. Extending probably wouldn't work anyways since many of the marshalls would probably leave / couldn't work that many days in a row for that long. Same applies to commentators / TV personal and the likes. The small teams wouldn't be happy with the extra day either.
Iâm still confused about this race as it cleared up as they cancelled ðĄ ðĪŽðĪŽðĪŽ the remaining time and could have be finished with a Safety Car. Just an unbelievable result for the sponsors and all the years of hard work and big investments to be on the grid. No words are suitable, for the disappointment
Whoever was in charge of this race needs to be fired and someone that cares about racing and not about making millions only should take his place. disgusting, yall are lucky people love Nurburgring
Yeah making millions on missing out on views and coverage... You guys are too smart for the rest of us... I have heard that they are always looking for competent people for race control. Too bad you weren't there, then everything would have gone very differently.
