Escape no 2-4 gears, servo failure, band replaced.

The escape I sold decided to come visit. Band was replaced still had no 2-4 gear, servo failed. It was free job, servo came from a core unit. Not the right way to do it, make sure you keep everything clean try this at your own risk. 👍

will this servo repair fix my 02 escape to have no reverse? i have to change the 2-4 band but also have no reverse

Couple of notes, keep everything clean, check the fluid level, install is reverse of removal, code for incorrect gear ratio is the same regardless of if the band or the servo fails, best to check both.

Stupid question possibly but do I need to drain transmission fluid first im a little Nervous/scared this would be my first time working on my transmission alone😅

@@johnnywinchester5944 You won't have to drain the trans fluid for the servo replacement, you will lose a little bit, probably around a cup. 👍 Just check the fluid before you run it too long, just in case.

Just replaced the band...now no shifting whatsoever....car sounds great but not shifting into drive 2nd 1st or reverse...servo?

This specific servo controls second and fourth gear, if you had 1st 3rd and reverse before removing the band something happened during the band replacement, maybe the pump alignment or the seals on the pump stator were damaged, if the clutches and drum assembly were removed during the band procedure they would have to be restacked and aligned.

What if I get all gears except reverse? I opened the pump and band is intact. Although the front pump bushing did pop out was eaten up by the sides. Could it be the solenoid pack?

Hi. What 2-4 band replacement brand do u recommed to buy one ??? Thks.
I need to that job 2-4 band.
I also have a some hit when i select in drive or reverse. Hopefully help that issue with this tranny job.

I'd recommend a Cd4e high energy carbon band, they fit 2001-2008 2.3 escapes, they're made a little better than the stock band also, I soak them in trans fluid before installing them. 👍
