Figured I’d just come to here I’m a little stuck on the bike, I got an 08kx250f bored out 290cc Athena, she’s also got a full fmf 4.1 cherry bomb on it. My cousin (previous owner, not in good contact) used to ride it all the time with the same components, same jets, same exhaust and bore, I cleaned out all jets so I could see through them, I cleaned the bowl, floats, etc. and she still bogs down without the choke, and backfires when I take the choke off and feed gas, without gas it shuts off. My bike also still runs while the fuel screw is all the way in, I’ve tried adjusting it between the 2-3 turns but no difference
My vm26 mikuni carb starts on half choke once it's running I take choke off it's dies, fuel mixture is turned out 2 and half and also the idle screw. Pilot jet is a 20 will I need to install a bigger pilot jet like 22.5? I have a yx140 engine
I cleaned my pilot jet and I could see through the hole. My crf150r still won’t start and idle with the choke off. Anymore tips you have that might help?
Hey man idk if your going to see this but I got a apollo 125cc I’ve look for so many videos on how they can help and really I’ve been so stressed out I’n life but the bike starts on choke up but when I put it down it turns off or sometimes it stays on with choke Down but when I rev it it dies and also when I ride it with the choke down it sounds like popping noises like popcorn I thought it was a misfire so I thighten the muffler also keep in mind I thought it was the carb so I bought a new one put the new one on and still having the same problem help?
I'm sort of knew to dirt bikes, rode mine for a while but don't know how to work on them. My 2018 crf 150rb wont start without the choke on and just a touch of throttle even on really hot days. If I don't use the choke its really hard to start and dies the second you try to even budge on the throttle. It runs great when it gets warm, bogs a little until its hot. But is it normal for me to have to run it with choke on even in warm weather, bc if I don't it wont start?
When my rm250 is on choke it idle when I turn it off it dies out. I can hold the throttle open a little when the choke is off and hold jt at idle rpms and its fine. Can I just adjust my idle?

Yeah, did all that a million times, does not fix the problem. Want some other answer that says its something other than the idle jet being clogged, because it's not. I can fill the idle jet well with solvent and it will siv right through it. Rebuilt this thing with new parts 50 different times, putting it on and off again, with the same problem. Only runs on choke, and stumbles when you twist throttle. It's not the idle jet, pilot jet, or master jet. I replaced that whole jet with one with clean holes., and made sure fluid goes through all 3 jets.

if you cant see through the pilot jet its because its still blocked lol - use some wire or a thin baby bottle brush to clean it out properly!
Not entirely true. I have a bran new carburetor and won't Idle unless the joke is turned on
Just rebuilt my carb cause the bike ran like junk and still only runs on choke

Yes sounds like you are not getting enough fuel at low rpm

It could be a few reasons but the number 1 problem I’ve come across is valves may need to be shimmed

No your not supposed to run the bike with choke on. The choke is only to cold start bike. Running the bike with choke on causes engine problems.
yes this is a normal thing the choke is helping it gas to the carb temp does not matter

Possibly but I would say you need to clean out the pilot jet

Check carb drain plug or feul line

Check your engine compression and also check that your valve are adjusted correctly sounds like your issue could be with the motor itself
my pilot is 35, can i go bigger?

Sometimes from the factory carburetors have metal shavings in the pilot jet try taking it apart and cleaning it.
