Exploring Epping Station

Hello everyone! It was a beautiful sunny Thursday, so I decided to take a trip to one of the stations I had always wanted to go to but never had, Epping, at the end of the central line and the north east corner of the tube map. It is a truly beautiful station whose design is really the reflection of North Weald, with its beautiful white footbridge. I explored the station's history, and gave some brief entry and exit stats, before exiting the station. Right outside the station is a signalling museum worth visiting, and a smaller version of a 1923 tube stock train! Also, Epping Forest is a ten minutes walk away from the station, so I explored that too. What a pleasant day!

My son lives in Harlow and drives to Epping station most days of the week then he commutes to wesrminister. the length of his day including travel is around 13hours. Congratulations on a fantastic channel

I suspect that the majority of passengers in the stats were peak hour commuters, so it's a lot quieter in off peak times.

The stats are probably right about the passenger numbers - it gets very busy at commuting times. It has the largest car park of any Underground station and (at least before Covid) it was full by 9am on a weekday. TfL fares into central London are cheaper than National Rail fares so lots of people drive to Epping from places like Harlow for a cheaper commute.

It’s worth visiting the end of the line because there are some really beautiful views out there in Essex. The train goes faster than anywhere I know when it’s nearing Epping
