Transmission pan gasket 2002 Mazda 626

02 Mazda 626 transmission pan gasket replacement.there was a leak at the bottom left corner, over the years the fasteners loosened up. Instead of retigtening, i replaced the gasket.

Did not see how old cork gaskette came off. Did you need to clean any old cork off the area or did it it just all come off together?

Scrape and wire wheel if I recall... Was like 2yrs ago lol

I understand about the gaskette needing replacement but why did the pan need changing to a new pan? How does the pan go bad?

It would be more simpler to remove the glove box lock fluid actuator before removing the battery tray. I did and it works EZY- PEZY. When duct tape won't do. Grab a Vice-Grips. Didn't they teach you anything at MIT?

Did this not have a transmission filter?

It does... It was likely internal....

Terrible position for your jack stand ! Never place it under the ticket panel... Always place at the frame rail or a solid piece connected to the frame only. Super, super dangerous how yours is set up. Please be safer in the future friend.
