I like that this mix is full of Wii and DS era songs, makes me feel like a kid again lying on my bed with the DS in my hands.

Sitting in a room alone and taking a little break on life with these songs fulfills me.
I'm realizing with more nostalgic videos that I'm noticeably older than I thought lol. So many of these are from games I played when I was a bit older. Surprisingly, even the songs I heard as an adult have started to turn nostalgic as I continue to work on mixes. I didn't expect to expound on my mental experience of video game music from this video either lol
Same here. When reading "nostalgic Nintendo", my brain expected something like NES and SNES music remixes, maybe N64, something like that. Started with Wii music, ouch ! But still very good anyway. :-)
The DS came out when I was in high school, and the Wii the year after I graduated. I found it a bit comical to see this music pop up as nostalgic. Normally you see Gen Y with NES/SNES/N64 music videos. No less pleasing the next generation enjoying their own "moments"

opened this list while I was studying and almost died of nostaliga when I heard Maple Treeway. Awesome playlist.
It's incredible how these games had an unique musical identity that made them so easy to tell them apart from each other, even if they're from the same franchise. Like, if you pick 9:50 you KNOW it's a Mystery Dungeon game, then you go 50:10 and it's completely different since it's a main pokémon game but STILL pokémon.
Mystery Dungeon music was fantastic. Would love another one at some point

This might just be me but a lot of wii and ds music has a kind of cozy safe feeling to it. I mean I mainly grew up with those consoles so it makes sence.

I don't think there's a better feeling in this world than spending 1.5 hours working on a 3D art project while listening to my favourite nintendo songs the entire time only to finish the last part of the project, zoom out and take a look at the work just as the video plays one of the best credits songs of all time and fades to black with the project fully completed within the span of the video. totally unintentional and felt poetic.
Ending with the Mario 64 credits was an amazing choice. S tier mix right here.

2:09 gives me comforting nostalgic vibes. New Super Mario Bros was the first Mario game I ever played, I got it for Christmas 2008 and it was the first DS game that I actually enjoyed (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team is the game I got bundled with my DS lite and I always hated it). I got hooked instantly and I still love the game to this day, it's good.
It's sad that Nintendo isn't doing a whole lot with the NSMB series :(

I miss my Wii and DS so bad. Almost every weekend when I was a kid me and my family would sit down together and play the Mario games. We had these other ones I faintly remember, of some hunting game, that also had a Wii controller extension that looked like a gun which was really cool to me as a kid.
I also remember first getting my DS when I was pretty young too. My brother had gotten a PSP for his birthday, and I was taken to get one too, but they had come out with the DSi XL at the time which I've never seen any type of DS before. So I got that one instead and I absolutely loved it. Good times
Whenever I study with this I lose track of time and end up finishing work very quickly
Super Mario 64’s Staff Roll at the end is a perfect touch! Also, I appreciate the songs here from the ‘DS and Wii eras that always glisten in my memories as well as the songs from the upbeat era of gaming from the 90’s that influenced a lot of DS games / reboots I enjoyed and had sparked my dreams that came true of playing classic video games on earlier systems one day.

Wow, it seems like when it comes to nostalgic Nintendo mixes, they always focus more on the 90s era (which is fair, cause they had some bangers back then). This is the first time where I see one that's literally early 2000s, my era. The DS and Wii were what I grew up with! You even added Kirby Super Star Ultra music!! I loved that game.

I really miss this soundtrack from my childhood, to this day I play this music to work and remember how happy I was coming home from school and waiting for dinner while doing my homework in animal crossing or earning a couple of medals in Pokemon.
I'm thankful to have the switch and still playing these sagas 15 years later.

Man those are some good titles, that kirby 64 game had such a cool mechanic sadly they never really implemented that in newer games (the mechanic where you can merge 2 types to create a different one). btw i dont see any osts from kirby return to dreamland? Its the wii version.
