The glass covers on the cooker is essentially an extension of the worktop. It also serves as a washeable splashback. Normally you cant use the space taken up by the cooker. The glass cover is just a utility to place items on top of the cooker.
May also be something to do with the open air? With it being open, might have things fly in (dust, leaves, flies, etc.) that you don't want on a stove top. Could be completely wrong, mind you. Maybe it's a mix of all the things we all said.
I believe it has more to do with the fact that they are right on the coast. The cliffs have waves constantly crashing against them. The porous metal surfaces rust easily when exposed to the ocean spray, and the house is totally open. So, the cover is to protect the grills from the ocean spray.
Most stoves have that cover in méxico, Even if You are in the city far away from the ocean. Your typical mexican Kitchen is small and often has no backsplash so it serves those two purposes. I'm mexican and live in Guatemala and it's Also the same way here.

Mexican style architecture is so beautiful. It feels welcoming like a home yet it has all the designs of a vacation destination. The open spaces make the rooms and areas look bigger than they really are and it makes it feel like you’re connected to nature.
When watching that mexican cliffside house tour on the main channel I noticed a small bit where you guys showed this house and thought “It’d be great if they toured that one too”. Nice to see u already did it!
Absolutely Incredible. They 🇲🇽 win over All through my eyes. Details, Style & Views .. Unbeatable!! And Yes, Affordable Rental prices. That small water pool your in, is a perfect spot for tanning too, while enjoying the view! 👍Thank you

You can definitely see some of the same architectural details and finishes that are found in the Cliffside Estate, which, to me, is probably the most incredible real estate bang for the buck I've ever seen. Your coverage and videography was first-rate, Enes and Mikey. You leave no stone unturned (hey, I think that's a pretty good pun). Enes, a question, if the main living area is open to the outside how do you protect yourself from the elements in case of inclement weather? Also bugs and animals

A great tour, such a wonderful home! The only downside is that I couldn't see where to park my 85m superyacht. Surely every coastal holiday house has a dock nearby.
I strongly believe that, despite the kitchen being big, the cover is still a way of extending the space. This is very common in Latin America, even when the house is big, stuff doesn't fit and we end up using even the oven as storage.
With a price tag like that it's definitely worth the view.🔥 Purchasing or building a villa without a beautiful view is a hilarious waste of tropical themed housing.

In South America, especially in Brazil is easy to find a range with glass on top which is very appropriate to maintain the backsplash clean, and also because is common to place things over like a bowl or something like that for decoration purposes.
I bought my villa in curacao for about 800.000. It's 3 times the size (and we bought the lot next to it too for an outdoor gym and bigger yard and place for the dog and kid to play.
Good Morning. Here in Brazil, this lid on the stove is used to cut off the gas when it is not used. When lowering the lid, she stops pressing a small button on the back and that cuts off the gas. Care must be taken not to lower the lid right after using the stove, as it will be very hot.

Normally you cant use the space taken up by the cooker. The glass cover is just a utility to place items on top of the cooker.
Not really sure about that. This kitchen has an abundance of worktop. I believe it serves as a protection for small kids and their nosy little hands.
