Cheers, great reaction. The fade-out I think is there because, on the vinyl edition of the wonderful *Impera* album, it closes side 1. It does as you say, fit the old-style fade-outs of the past. Tobias writes all the guitar parts, but on Impera, he got his friend Fredrik Akesson (Opeth) to play guitars, and the excellent Per Eriksson plays all the lead parts live (with a mask on!), and has done since 2017 (I think). Watcher In The Sky is apparently about people who seek (and sometimes think they find) answers 'up there', where there aren't any, or in some cases come up with the wrong conclusions (e.g. flat earth, etc.). Yet another song - and there are so many - where the fans pore over the lyrics to find the hidden meanings.
Yeah, that's one reason for the fadeout on this track. Also, it emphasizes that they just continue looking for the watcher in the sky with the implication that they never actually find him. It really works well as the closer for side A of the vinyl.
Heyyyyy dude, really appreciate the reaction!!!!! I love Ghost for the same reason you do. Gives me the old school classic vibes from before I was born. I absolutely love it.
One of the best one (including best Ghost Solo) is Ritual (live from Music Feeds Studio). I'm sure you will be a ghoul after seeing this one ! Greetings from France

Imagine the pain Perr must have in his fingers holding that pattern at the end for so long.

Opeths Fredrik Akerson on guitar
I've been listening to Mary on a cross a lot lately because it gives off that 80s early 90s electronic rock and alternative rock!
Great reaction. Yes, the main riff is very Dio/Ozzy-esque, though I do think the guitar figure outro seems like an homage to Spirit of Radio.
Respite on the spitalfields next!
@enigma3082 Yes yes yes! Respite is a masterpiece.
