In Furnace we trust. RIP Geoff.
This was made on Furnace with the VERA/Commander X16 chip. It's my final take on a "fantasy chip" that's in between the C64 SID 6581/8580 and NES 2a03. I'll call it the 2a81 for now. It's part of a fantasy system concept. NEGS is in reference to the NES & C64GS. Maxcom is a portmanteau of Max Machine & Famicom, as a JP name for it.
First things first, is the layout. You might be familiar with channels, but not so much with "voices". The 8bitguy did a great explanation of it. I'll do it here.
The NES has 4 main channels plus a DPCM channel. But with 1 voice per channel. The NES can only produce 4 sounds (5 with the DPCM), 2 Pulse, 1 Triangle & 1 Noise.

But the SID chip has 3 channels, but 4 voices for each (Pulse, Sawtooth, Triangle, Noise) meaning 12 different combinations of sounds could be made.

My "chip" has 4 channels with 2 voices each (double the NES, half the C64). Meaning there are 8 combinations. The 2 voices are preset. I wanted the pulse waves to be more like VRC6 ngl
I tried to average the amount of each waveform can appear. For instance, there is 1 Tri wave for the NES, and potentially 3 for the C64, so mine has 2 Tri waves. Same as the Noise.
Anyway, the 2 voices are preset as well. First preset is the same as the NES. While the 2nd is (Saw, Noise, Pulse, Triangle respectively), which ironically just so happens to be the waveforms of C64.

This cover is based on the Littlelamp100 NES cover and Acrouzet C64 cover, as well as the original SNES version. This uses elements from The Blender Fiddler's Genesis remix.
Also the 1st loop has a swing rhythm while 2nd loop reverts back to normal.
Nice VERA cover of the song!😄🤩😎👌
bro finally found my remix XD
Thanks!
