To me the most mind boggling part of 80s yngwie was the precision while doing all the stage antics. It's like his guitar truly was just an extension of his body.
Malmsteen is one of the best musician of all human history and probably the best guitarist of all times. No one like him…
The #1 Master shredder. His guitar playing is so fast and prefect. It is perfection. Ear candy.
Yngwie Malmsteen is one of the greatest and most technically skilled guitarist of all times. He is a monster. Even guitarist like Joe Satriani told in many interviews that, Yngwie's guitar playing gave him chills and wonders sometimes while touring together. Because the knowledge Yngwie has on classical music is really crazy! Very few guitarists can do that kind of stuffs other than Jason Becker. Yngwie's influences are all over in Jason's music, although what he presented are also so difficult and complex as well like Yngwie's.
Despite his detractors, Yngwie is the king. He's a game changer like Hendrix and EVH before him.
Yes he is an excellent guitar player i try to learn as much from his technique as i can
EXACTLY! Many people do not see / understand this.
@@tp00nz the amount of modern shred that is based of this dudes technique is probably bigger than EVHs influence on modern shred. YJM is crazy
Yeah, he is a star.
And from little sweden like me.
He was my first guitar hero.
If he would only make music that is listenable!
And it all comes from Yngwie hearing Van Halen 1. He said how much he LOVED the whole band & how they played like they didn't give a fuck, just get on stage & go for broke every time!! He said if he ever made it big, he'd make sure his band took the stage with that kind of attitude, EVERY NIGHT!! Ergo, playing the keys while lying on the floor, playing Ring Around the Keyboards & all the other stuff they do onstage. Yngwie is a man of his word, he did EXACTLY what he said he'd do, go on stage with that Van Halen, I don't give a fuck 'tude & rock the living HELL out of the crowd.!!
Back in the 80s when Malmsteen first made an impression on me and my fellow metalheads, we always said that if Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, etc were alive, THIS is what they’d be writing! 🔥🎸
Yeah, they definitely be into metal.
Most likely tech death....🤣
Yes, but admittedly they'd be better at it lol. Not at playing it, but writing it .. because Mr Malmsteen loves to take snippets of their chord progs and melodies.
That Bach ”tune” played with organ, sonata in D-minor ? (D-minor I’m sure of!) That piece is really heavy& would concidered beeing Metal today, for sure! 🤘🤘
Yngwie is one of the best, and Jens Johansson...top notch, period.
Pure 80's perfection. Yngwie is a hero among the guitar players here in Sweden, has been since the beginning.
That´s Yngwie alright! With him are the Johansson brothers, Anders on drums and Jens on keyboard. Extremly good musicians!!! All three of them swedish. YES!!!
Not just brothers but also sons of one of the most well known swedish jazz musicians.
The duelling solos between Yngwie and Jens is so epic, akin to watching Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris going toe to toe! 🎸🎹🔥🔥🔥
You don’t know how right you are in the comments on them beeing a supergroup! Jens( keyboard!) & Anders(drums!) are sons of Swedens most famous Jazzpianist, Jan Johansson who died in a car crash in 1967..! ♥️😎🤘🤘 😊
Yngwie is a guitar GENIUS 🤘🤘
YNGWIE is an ungodly, groundbreaking player! I had the privelege of first seeing this master in the early 80's at the famous L'Amour rock club in Brooklyn, NY. Every jaw in that place dropped! Yngwie must have been around 21 back then.
I have seen live Him live ! A big hug to you GuYZ
10:15 love This part "battle session yngwie with keyboard jenss johansen" so insane 😍
I saw him back in 85. Incredible show!
It warms my heart to see the rare shredder who plays thumb over.
That was a brilliant reaction. Thanks!
Amazing
Legend!
I've seen him live quite a few times and you really have to see him to believe it. Get close as you can.
John said classical chord progression. Well, that first part, the "prelude" here, before he went into "Far Beyond the Sun," is actually Albinoni's Adagio in G minor.
Actually the first part is Paganini - Violin Concerto No 4. Second part is Adagio in G minor (but not played in G minor)
Didn't he play alot classical pieces while learning how to play?
Yngwie is one of the best guitarists ever. Try his version of Hendrix's classic Spanish Castle Magic. The lead singer is off the chain.
Second that a thousand times!
I'm sitting here watching you two reacting to your reaction 😂🤣😂 I'm just laughing reacting to two awesome thanks you always woft to
This is the malmsteen magic bro
Yay!!! A reaction to the ONLY performance of this song!!! 🤘🏻
that intro still give me chills.
Live in leningrad is yngwie of the height of his career ,like epic 103 said a game changer nobody in style comes even close, malmsteen is a pioneer hendrix van halen malmsteen
Oh wow, barley any reaction on this amazing guitarist and my favourite guitarist. Please more Yngwie Malmsteen, Black Star live is amazing too. Thank you for reacting to this legend that not many react to. You guys are awesome loved your reaction.
My mind was blown back in the 80s when I played the vinyl version of his first album. Yngwie electrified the 80s with EVH, of course.
his name is pronounced Yngwie (Ingvay) a Swedish guitarist who began his career with Steeler and Alcatrazz in 83 and 84, in 85 formed Rising Force and the rest is history. Known for his neoclassical style rock with the influence of Niccolò Paganini , and Johann Sebastian Bach.
Yes indeed 1000 percent correct!! You the man.
*not the sebastian bach from skid row ( note)
@Patridge Yeah, that would be more like the original Swedish spelling of his name which is Yngve Malmsten (i am Swedish), it seems like the international version of the spelling which he has used through his career is pronounced more like Ingvay though.
AWESOM!!!Mr.Yngwie J.Malmsteen The Best Guitar Player!!!💪🎸🔥
This is so insane playing. Yngwie Malmsteen - Arpeggios from Hell
Standing in a club with Marshalls blazing watching Yngwie destroy the room... One has to experience this live show at least once!!
The Maestro at work!!!
One of the best guitar players great live
Best Yngvie Band EVER !!!
Prime Yngwie. Great lineup, probably the best he's had in his career.
That keyboard player is Jens Johansson and he join Finnish band Stratovarius 1995. BTW it is my hometown (Helsinki) Band. Enjoy guys this Stratovarius song Black Diamond. Stratovarius Black Diamond Wacken 2007
LEGEND!!
Huge Yngwie (Ing-Vay) fan here. Great to see you young Metalheads checking him out, the Keyboardist & Drummer are brothers (Jens & Anders Johannsen) & are currently in Stratovarious & Manowar respectively, if you want to check them out in more current stuff.
yngwie is legend, he created many beautiful song and solos
Playing like that alone in your bedroom is one thing - there are thousands than can do it - but playing it perfectly night after night in front of a crowd is exceptionally impressive. wow.
Possibly one of the best rock performances ever. Very few, if any, can match the brilliance of this.
Yngwie Malmsteen is a true guitar hero.
Dude, fire and ice record is my favorite. Either Perpetual or Leviathan are killer
Yngwie in his prime was the GOAT in 80s
I love Yngwie! He has a lot of haters but he's a neo-classical guitar god.
I thank Yngwie for creating neoclassical metal, and is amazed by his skill.
What I don't like about him is that at least during his peak he never credited the band backing him.
Unfortunately too true.
Why he has so many haters bro?
People think he's egotistical and cocky, which he kinda is. Some say he plays with no emotion, which is not true. Other people just don't like his musical style. Probably other reasons too but those are the ones I hear the most.
@@Maidiac88 because them can't be like him bro.yngwie has unique style
Eargasm!!!
That is a young Yngwie, I remember buying this album when it first came out and I was blown away,So Good.Alot of great bands and musicans come out of Sweden.Look at this my next video coming up is The Skeleton Key,lol, didn't he pick that one to👍
1 of the great instrumental Rock songs ever!
FYI: This live show was from 1989, in Leningrad, Soviet Union ( USSR ) !!! 🤘👍🤘
Yes, Leningrad is now St Petersburg BTW.
@@Stefan- Я был на этом же концерте, только в Москве, зимой 1989 года
His 1st album Rising Force, incl this track, actually has a picture of Jimmi Hendrix guitar, which was released in 1984. Yngwie was 24yrs old. And had just bought Hendrix guitar in '83
You have to watch...Appegios from hell. mind blowing stuff. Enjoy. Cheerz from Oz.
Yngwie is amazing h does have songs with a vocalist but he mixes instrumentals into his set the intro reminded me of Icarus dream suit opus
Jens on the keys.. 🔥👌
That's how you rock in the 80's
Yngwie at his best, though later work was pretty darn solid too
Every time you listen to a live version of this, it’s so different
Always brilliant though❤
What a great Sunday evening jam! You Wolf Hunterz do it right! His name is pronounced
ing-vay 🤘 Love your channel, and Keep Rockin!
Thanks. Was about to pronounce it myself!
Yngwie= G.O.A.T.
Everyone dogged the 80s once we got in the 90s....but Noone and nothing beat the sheer talent and entertainment enthusiasm of that decade!
Nothing.
The 90s musicians weren't even close. But it was time for change, you couldn't play better or more complicated than some of this....it had to go slower....this guy is a master.
If you're talking about the flannel brigade, fine, but Angra and Rhapsody of Fire picked up where Yngwie left off.
Far Beyond Amazing!!!
Mr. Jens Johansson from Stratovarius on Keys..one of the best ever..this fucking amazing..Check out Stratovarius - Black Diamond.
Ohhh HELL YEAH !!!
Yngwie is the guitarrist, one of the fastest players in the world, unfortually from the backyard of Sweden, you know Stockholm ;)
It's nice to see that they are realizing that music is always about having fun, right?
Yens and anders Johansson are also from Sweden and he uses the best of the 600 vocalists he tried out the first two months he returned back to the US ( la)!
I wish Yngwie would stick closer to the original studio compositions when performing live, they're so beautiful, especially this one.
I understand that completely but playing the same way day after day year after year gets old fast. Plus like any other guitar player from time to time you lose your spot and have to improvise, it helps keeping things fresh.
@@12floz67 Sure, but seeing him live is about cramming as many extra notes in as possible. Dynamics are key.
@@kitoyobeni1
That’s what most people go to see, a demonstration of his skills. Me personally, if I want to hear the album I’ll play it but every time I’ve seen him live pushes the envelope and that’s what I hope to see. To each their own I guess.🍻
The '85 live video version is pretty neat though and close to the original.
Malmsteen kicks ass. It just brings out the beast inside of you, right?
Baroque & Roll🤘
Это было в Ленинграде в 1989 году, мне было 5 лет и родителям не с кем меня было оставить поэтому Я там был , самый юный фан Мальмстина на тот момент)
Lol you guys are awesome
The drama and the tragedy you feel when he shredding the intro is other worldy. You get the same feels when you hear the " Maggot Brain" solo by Eddie Hazel (Funkadelic) Please do a review of that song !!!!!!!! Legendary solo
Trial By Fire, played it about million times a day back then 😂😂😂
GOAT.......
Hello, I have met Yngve Malmsten. Yes, for that we are stVAR His name. I've met him several times. Hail Sweden
the g3 version is nuts. good keyboard solo in it too
probably one of the coolest shows I ever saw was this tour at the budokan in tokyo...88?..it sounded terrible,...but you could tell they were doing the things....he did circles around his keyboard while he was having solo battles with yngwie...I loved this line up ...the old school craziness!!!
What the fuck was that? Amazing!!
Yeah, with the crazy great Johansson brothers ( key and frumos) in the future playing in Stratovarius and Hammerfall !!!!
Key and drums, sorry!
Now in Rainbow and Manowar
Hes from Sweden rock bad assssss 🎸🎸🎸🇸🇪🇸🇪
In before the "Yngwie is a soulless mechanic" comments.
Don't be Mad... I got to see him LIVE on this Tour in 85 Opening for AC-DC in Wichita Ks..I was Front Row..wore my Yngwie Concert T-Shirt for my Freshman School Photo..
He is the guitar Mozart 🙏🙏🤘🤘👍👍
I saw Engwie open for AC/DC on their “Fly On The Wall” tour.
Wow! Haha!!!
If you want to hear a very intresting intro, then listen to: Yngwie Malmsteen - Devil In Disguise
*Yngwie J. Malmsteen mashed in the melody of "Adagio" [the one that Floor "Valkyrie Goddess" Jansen covered] in the guitar solo [before the band kicked in].*
🎵🎸🥁🎹🎸📢🎵🌟✨🎵💿📀🔊✅🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘😎👍
watch far beyond the with new japan philharmonic orchestra absolutely incredible
Yngwie Malmsteen, Stockholm, Sweden´s own!
Nice reaction jajajajajajaj
He plays a Paganini in the beginning, violin concerto 4
Check out Hiroshima Mon Amour from Alcatrazz
Yngwie owes me $60 dollars. Love it either way.
Jens johannsen is the keyboardist
then with Stratovarius ....and finished hate Yngwie!! jajajaja
Yngwie is a swedish guitarr player.
Ah. So, this is what happens when you feed a gremlin after midnight.
In my book top. 5 guitar player malmsteen, Buckhead, Santana, Hendricks,Steve ray the rest only wish to be this good
The intro are both pieces of Paganini and Albinoni incorporated
