Hope we get a new video soon. Even if it's just watching the trains run on what you have created. Absolutely top. Love the whole vibe. The scrap yard is absolutely amazing!
One of the things i like is he hasn`t gone over board with points and track. He`s created a realistic setting rather than overdoing it with too much emphasis on trains.
I hear that. Most modellers use the term “modern” as in the type of locomotives used like diesel, electric and so on. And even though I’m a steam enthusiast I can’t deny how amazing this looks this looks
One of the biggest compliments you can give is when you think you know what location a layout is based on before reading about it. This layout oozes detail and atmosphere by the shovel load. Fabulous 🤗
Your layouts are of the highest quality. You're work and expertise in railroad modeling is the standard. Your precision and accurate depiction of time period of your layout if dead on and you really nail it. I'm a huge fan of model trains. You should win an award for your layout.
Happy Xmas Richard 🎅🎄🎁 We've been onboard with the build-up of this new layout from the very beginning indeed when you announced the old one was giving too many headaches in regards of derailments. This new venture has shown a major step-up of your work with lots of ideas and has been a guide of extremely intricate detailing. Absolutely brilliant.
I always look forward to your videos Richard, and closing the year with a running session was a great choice. I think you need to have a word with "Barratt Homes" with regards to the row of unfinished semi`s 😂😂.
The key to realistic modelling is in observation, where you have not doubt succeeded and in not filling the board with track. The progress has been a joy to watch, thanks for sharing.
Incredible detail in this as always. I think your trains, when viewed running in the layout dont have the same "real life" look as the incredible scenery. Sometimes, as you get lost in the scene, an occasional carriage will go past that doesnt look as weathered and it puts you off. I have to say though, this is the most incredible layout I have ever seen. The way that you observe real life and then re create it is inspirational. Thank you for allowing us a glimpse of what you do and keep the content coming!
It is great to see the trains running, I love seeing the building of the layout. But the reason is the trains, the lighting on the the station is spot on. That gloomy look they had back in my day. Have a great New Year. The pleasure in a layout is the trains running, I like a bit of shunting.
Hi Richard! Thank you for taking time out to treat us to action from your fabulous railway again. I for one have loved every minute of your journey with this rebuild. I liked the old Everard Junction well enough but this has been an evolution and a half. What I like is that you have always been keen to redo bits which, as you put it, don’t look right rather than just ploughing on regardless! And the proof is in the pudding in terms of whether you were right or not! 😎 Cheers mate, hope you had a fantastic Christmas and look forward to new year developments 🍀👍💚🥂
One of the best running sessions I’ve seen due to the fact of not only some great locos and rolling stock but your attention to detail on your layout is truly astounding, a real inspiration that has helped me in my own build, happy new year and I look forward to the future updates
HNY to you, sir. I've watched this video 3 times now, as it is awesome. I've also shared it with various people. One of the watches was with my 86 year old mum, who only realised it was a model railway when she noticed the photographer on the end of the platform! Thanks for all the videos so far and I look forward to more in 2024.
Astounding realism. The smooth movement of the autos really sell it. If you go back and shoot it 24p you wouldn't be able to tell it was a a model railroad. Great job!!
Great layout Richard and such believable scenes throughout. You're an inspiration to us all. Merry Christmas. I'm Looking forward to what you do in the coming year.
I'm not a modeller but I appreciate the work and effort that goes into something this good. My favourite section on this layout is the branch line, that small diesel train running around looks so good. Thank you for sharing it.
I think your layout is by far the very best I seen on youtube your a real artist. My older brother used to take me train spotting at Reading Station, around 1979 too 1980. We used to jump down and put the old 2 shillings 10p on the line to be squashed and retrieve it after ( so dangerous lol ) I was brought up in Wokingham in Berkshire. I do remmber seeing the first very diff shaped hst going thru Reading many a time. I think was being tested and looked like somthing from the future. I think ur layout is based more late 80s to early 90s but u really captured this so well. Once again amzing layout keep the videos comming xxx
Thoroughly enjoyed that - what a way to show off the layout and all the little bits that make up one the best layouts on you tube. Thanks so much for the upload. Regards Steve
Great to see all the trains running, I’m always left wanting more with the little clips on the ‘normal’ videos when you’re focusing on a project. Such a great layout 👍
Hi Richard. Although I watch your videos, I very rarely comment due to your brilliant popularity, you can't read all your comments. Fantastic layout as usual, watching the progress of the station was great as was the car park, scrap yard, offices and buildings. Then the cars with you fitting the Magna track,(think I've spelt it correctly) Then to top it all the wonderful locos and rolling stock. Have a fantastic new year Richard and thank you for your brilliant layout. DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)🍾🍾
Thanks for entertaining us during the year. This is a brilliant video with camera angles that make the trains look real. A better watch than anything that is on TV all over the holiday. Looking forward to seeing the layout progress in 2024. Happy New Year Regards Jeff
Fabulous ' ...those station night scenes made me feel like I was there, winters' evening after work, the short walk to home for dinner (probably no3 at the Georgian terrace) ...rather splendid '
I am not a train modeler, but appreciate the effort that goes in, and these vids are excellent, i LOVE the breakers yard, and reminds me of when we went in the 60's-70's with Dd, dangerous places back then!
excellent running session. I personally cannot wait to see the next build you have lined up. you have inspired me with so many of your creative builds, and the quality of them all.
Thank you Richard for all your hard work in not only showing us various building stages of your layout but also the superb videos you produce. As a bus modeller I have picked up many tips on scenic ideas that you have shown such as small amounts of litter in various places, scrap yard details. Looking forward to 2024 updates, Happy New Year.
Fantastic layout. Thankyou for this video mate i got home from work. Opened a beer sat down. And really enjoyed watching this running session. I love the night time setting looks real!!
Thanks for another great Video. The station now looks even better during the night running, with the extra details and lighting you've added. Amazing work. Hope you had a good xmas. Happy New year Richard.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the amazing build. So much detail, I didn't know where to look first. Can you put some scaffolding around those unfinished houses, then you don't have to worry about finishing them anytime soon..😂 Happy New Year.
It’s great to see this excellent layout. Thank for sharing and the detailed explanations you have proved. Truly informative and inspiring. Now must get that garage sorted. Looking forward to more - Best Wishes
Superb layout, Richard! What particularly impresses me is the ballast, the variation in colour and grime that is so typical of long-term use and maintenance in the real world. What am I most looking forward to? Working signals, particularly at platform ends, more variable operations, with station stops, stops and speed changes foor signals. All in time, of course!
Very relaxing and a great way to spend 25 minutes. Wish it was longer! Had a mad thought whilst watching this, wouldn’t it be great to build it again but 40 years earlier, same basic track design but with older station design and different street/ shop builds. Also some sort of engine staging for changing locomotives. Think I need to stay off that imported baccy. Happy new year to you.
Thank you for making an posting all your videos, the content really is great and I have enjoyed watching every single video. You have an amazing ability to make these scenes that take me back to my childhood but you are also an artist with what you do and I’ve loved seeing the weathering and modification videos too. I’m looking forward to seeing more great content as and when you post it. Thanks again
Had a difficult Christmas as the better half has been very ill. So this has been so therapeutic for me to watch and calm and chill. Thank you. Looking forward to see what you get up too in 2024. All the best Alex.
Wheres the 125 Richard bloody love that train. Got to say your layout is a inspiration to others its absolutely stunning take a bow you deserve it. Thank you for letting us see this masterpiece still in the making cant wait to see what else you create. Merry Christmas 🎅
As ever, a smashing video; I love the night scenes, so evocative of the era. One thing which did intrigue me, however, was that apart from the shuttle service, not a single passenger train stopped at the station! Is there any reason for this?
The night time stuff is brilliant and so well lit, so gloomy. I love that thing where you have two trains running in the same diection at different speeds 'cause you get that in real life a lot like towards New Street Station in Birmingham where I live Best industrial layout I've seen. Congrats..
Everard junction is the reason why my love 😍 for model railways was redescoverd, ive been with you since v1 and E.J is still my favourite TH-cam layout 🤩🙂
Excellent video as always. It is however missing one great element - your voice! Your opinions, wisdom, and expertise are highly valued. Tell us about the train’s destinations! What manufacturer each one is, any weathering, your opinions on the models, when they were first used in your layouts region, anything missing still.
Great running session Richard. Thanks for all the great videos this year. The layout has developed so much this year and the attention to detail is superb. Hope you had a good Christmas and have a happy new year. - Nicholas.
Fantastic seeing a Class 60 ‘Tug’ running! The Triple Grey livery in keeping with the 89/90 theme, but still one of the very earliest! Cavalex are bringing a high specification Class 60 out end of next year I believe - on the list of future acquisitions for EJ?
Happy Christmas and a great running session. You mentioned in your last station build video about not being able to change the backscene for night time running. From these shots I think it looks perfect as a light polluted urban sky. It's never truly dark until you get out into the country.
A good running session here Richard, a lot of nice trains made and shown during this video. Hope you had a good Christmas a a good new year. Keep up the good work.
My thoughts as well.
Best layout in the UK. Great to see the different details!
A healthy balance between and s train set and scenics is something rarely mastered… but Richard owned that idea years ago!
@@ringmastermodels Richard is the God of Railway Modelling!
I’ll keep saying this… this is the best UK modern image layout.
And even then, the layout is set in 1989-1990. But what you said is a good point, it’d be somewhat easy to set it up as entirely modern.
Fabulous 🤗
The photographer at the end of the platform standing with one foot across the yellow line made me smile.😂❤
Layout looks superb , the weathering especially adding to the realism and missing from some of the “ other large “ layouts seen .
This is a fantastic layout, love every video from you. Your attention to detail is superb!
I never get tired of seeing the branch line DMU.
Thanks for a great year.
Your layouts are of the highest quality. You're work and expertise in railroad modeling is the standard. Your precision and accurate depiction of time period of your layout if dead on and you really nail it. I'm a huge fan of model trains. You should win an award for your layout.

I just showed my wife your opening shot train coming through station at night and she thought it was real, amazing modelling and a great layout.
Merry Christmas and thanks for all the great videos over the year. The station looks amazing now!
Your layout is outstanding , its beautiful. Nice video.👍
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I always look forward to your videos Richard, and closing the year with a running session was a great choice. I think you need to have a word with "Barratt Homes" with regards to the row of unfinished semi`s 😂😂.
Great work on the layout mate. It's great work and I like the Miami style music at the start of the video.
Superb layout. Really good to see a full running session and I find your videos a real inspiration that helps me with my own layout. Happy Christmas!
The layout looks absolutely fantastic. Best wishes to you and yours for 2024 also. I still reckon I've been in that scrapyard searching for car bits.
Cavalier bonnet maybe?
Nah, Ford Cortina parts. Had a Mk4 first half of the 80s and a Mk5 for the second half.
Richard , you have created a wonderful railway , which inspires us modellers in this wonderful hobby . Thank you and all the best in 2024 cheers John

Lots of original and imaginative positions to film from. Must have taken you ages to set up, but the results are stunning.
HNY to you, sir. I've watched this video 3 times now, as it is awesome. I've also shared it with various people. Happy New Year sir! and this is what I needed for a lazy day at work , watching trains and drinking coffee
love seeing more of your layout, the details are super nice.

Great shot from the footbridge. All the best for 2024 Richard. Looking forward to next years videos. VERY inspirational.
I love the shot at 18:12 , there's so much depth to it
Hope you had a good Christmas too. . Have a great 2024
Out of all the railway model layouts on You Tube yours is far and away the best. I hope you are very proud of what you have achieved.
Great stuff as ever! Hope you had a great Christmas and I'll wish you a happy new year! Really looking forward to further updates next year.
To finish off the year, a video that takes me to another place and time. So good to watch. All the best to you too. 🏆
Thoroughly enjoyed that - what a way to show off the layout and all the little bits that make up one the best layouts on you tube. Thanks so much for the upload.

Great to see all the trains running, I’m always left wanting more with the little clips on the ‘normal’ videos when you’re focusing on a project. Such a great layout 👍
very nice...well done...looks great and runs good too....and the station and surrounding buildings are depressingly realistic....cheers...

One of the best if not the best layout in the country. 'Nuff said!
Happy 2024 Richard and family. 😊 👍
It’s great to see this excellent layout. Thank for sharing and the detailed explanations you have proved. Truly informative and inspiring. Now must get that garage sorted. Looking forward to more - Best Wishes
Always interested in seeing the video uploads.
Reminds me of travelling on the East Coast weekly in the 80s
Fantastic running session, really like the night shots

Always look forward to your videos.
You are inspiring many of us. Happy New Year
I really thought the night scenes were from a real railway! Well done! Lovely photography.
OMG this is so good I have to share ... listen to some 80's music while watching this ... talk about time travel!
Best wishes for your New Year too.... may all your plans come to fruition

Seriously enjoyable STUFF. Looking forward to 2024, more power to your elbow!

That caramel Morrie Marina still travelling well
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
That layout is a true work of art, keep it up mate, and happy new year 🎉
A good running session here Richard, a lot of nice trains made and shown during this video.
Hope you had a good Christmas a a good new year.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the night and day running session on your amazing layout 😊, plus the excellent videography and realistic sounds. All the best for 2024!
Not watched one of your videos for a while now, but WOW!
What you have created is stunning, a masterpiece. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😃
