Nah, that's BS. If you complain to a friend about your SO doing something wrong the normal response is usually 'ah, that sucks, you're right, they shouldn't have done that.' That's not manipulative.
It's good and normal to have people you can talk frankly with or just vent with about your SO. 'Never allow anything bad to be said about your SO' will result in you getting taken advantage of by someone with bad intentions because you won't let your friends tell you the truth about them. I've seen that happen many times.
It's subjective and situational, there's no golden rule. However, if we're following your logic, that would also imply that toxic and abusive relationships are perfectly fine then. Not all relationships result in a happy one. There are plenty of real world examples, from the poorest and lowest of society to the most affluent and highest of society.
What's odd is Marine created a very specific scenario, 0:47. Unless the TL is wrong, it can be implied that the "man" has a history of being a player, or at least very popular with women (some guys can't help this, i.e. Elvis Presley), which ingrains the idea of a possessive SO, which Marine uses right after.
The key takeaway, if anything, is Marine is simply hinting that whoever dates her, or rings her, better only think of her and always defend her.
This question is way too complex for simplicity. I could honestly write a dissertation on this. It's just like asking someone, what is love? What is the meaning of life?
In its simplest form, a good answer to the question would be, when you began desiring for someone else other than your SO.

Can't just blindly put too much trust into your SO that the moment someone says your SO is doing something wrong, you immediately flip out. If anything, that's not defending anymore, it's like a reaction to your belief being broken--it just spells insecurity if nothing else (now, if the talk happens when your SO is there, which obviously makes the atmosphere awkward, then shutting it down so the talk could happen privately makes sense).

We trash talk the crap out of their SO to them hoping one day they'll come to their senses after years. There are people who are not good people out there. And yeah, hypothetically they deserve love and you shouldn't meddle in other people's relationships. But you don't want your friends in those situations to begin with. I've other friends in long term relationships, and I may not particularly like all of the people they are with. But I don't trash talk them. It's this one specific person. There is no rule. It's all case by case basis and being mature enough to understand the difference between a relationship you just don't get and may seem questionable... and someone who's actually a bad actor.

Not necessarily insecure (anymore), just extremely picky. You might have to go back and find some old archives on her childhood pre-hololive, she drops a lot of clues, and ever since. Plus, she has a big heart, so not ready to settle down because she worries (she's a big worrywart) it will affect her relationships with mems, career, and her fans. She has some archives she hints at this. Until then, she just wants to make everyone happy and enjoy life.

No, you will not, don't talk like that is a sure thing. 30 y.o. here. All my friends are men. If we cut away friendzone kind of friends, men don't have that many female friends.
