    You know, my computer tells me I spend an average of 3hrs a day, 7 days a week on YTube. This is the greatest roofing video on YT in my opinion. Simple, encouraging, clear, easy to understand and accessible to someone of any economic standing. Thank you, and may you be blessed.

    Love the simple straight forward instructions, I've wondered what types of grass or reed to use

    Can we build a mud house on the second floor of our cemented house. Also can we invite the Gilli Mitti foundation to design and construct it? It would be our pleasure.

    • @GeeliMitti
      @GeeliMitti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, depending on the load that the existing structure can take.
      Please come over first for a workshop so all queries and doubts get addressed 🙏🏻

    Thanks. I really thought this exists only in English country side. I was so damn ignorant.
    One question.. will the hay or dried grass survive in heavy tropical monsoon rains..in say Western ghats area

    • @GeeliMitti
      @GeeliMitti  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, thatched roofs work well in such areas as well traditionally.
      Durability will depend on type of grass, roof pitch and quality of thatching.

      Yes, that's what has been explained. The pitch and technique and material - all has to be done right.

    Hi. We are a small homestay in Darima village near Mukteshwar. Would like to know more about Thatched roof and it’s feasibility in our garden for a Gazebo. Can you share the contact details

    • @GeeliMitti
      @GeeliMitti  ปีที่แล้ว

      Namaste. We've tried to share info about thatching on this video. What would you like to know?
      We design and do our thatching in-house and experiment with different materials to test their performance and longevity.
      If the snow stays on a thatched roof, it wouldn't last much and can also leak. A slate/shingle roof would be more appropriate.

    How is it water proof? Roof will start leaking if left So in Rains

    • @GeeliMitti
      @GeeliMitti  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, it doesn't when built properly and with the correct slope. That's what has been shown and taught in video. You can also research.
