Keep in mind the people at EVGA doing RMA work are not the same people from when EVGA was still selling cards. That talent left a long time ago. Now it's just quick hire's to fill in positions to honor remaining warranties. Bottom line is that EVGA is no longer EVGA.

it hasnt been THAT long. Youre making it seem like were comparing Blizzard North from the Diablo 2 era to whatever bullshit Blizzard is now that made Diablo 4.
Honestly, everyone goes nuts and sucks off EVGA like they were the only good company, when the reality is, they had just as many problem as all the rest. My 1080ti that leaks "fluid" from its thermal pads all over anything its in is a testament to them having problems no different than the others, and from what ive read, plenty of other people online were bitching about it hard years ago and EVGAs response was "dont worry about it bro, its none conductive, youll be fine".
Im GLAD NWR here is at least showing that EVGA is a company just as capable of fucking up just as much as any of the others are.

lmao their last card was the 3090 ti, you think the old team has been playing darts and pinochle in the years since then? the talent all left and they have a skeleton crew for RMAs only.

@@CommissariatGames It wasn't just EVGA with leaky thermal pads, i had EKWB pads do the same, MSI did the same... EVGA would replace your card if it couldn't be fixed without screwing you around *cough*ASUS...*COUGH* EVGA got praise because they were very consumer focused, they backed their customers and since they gave the finger to Nvidia and left well... doesn't take a bright spark to see what is happening. The real EVGA is gone, what is left is a skeleton crew, overworked and paid peanuts.

Just because EVGA is semi out of business it's doesn't make this better or acceptable.

Sent my Asus board in under warranty. A board they at first tried to deny because they changed their return policy from 3 to 2 years. I bought mine when it was still 3 years, and I had a month left. Packaged it in a nice box. They wanted the board with the CPU, heatsink, and fan installed. The front USB ports had failed. Instead of repairing them, they just disabled those ports, put it in one of their mobo boxes, which weren't designed to be packaged with a CPU, heatsink and fan attached and shipped it back to me. They had bent the top of the box around the HS/Fan that created the bulge then wrapped it in packaging tape... That's how it was returned. I was surprised it even booted after being shipped like that.

If I remember right, a via to a gpu pad from the 13th layer was broken and he drilled down to connect it, spinning a little drill bit in his fingers and then connecting with a tiny wire across the back of the board. I had an EVGA power supply, the fan stopped working and it would actually overheat so I sent it in for rma. The power supply thry sent me in replacement would make crackling arcing sounds when you'd flip on the power switch. I sent them a video and called them and they told me it was normal.
After a month the power supply popped and took my motherboard and cpu with it.They refused to make things right unless I vould prove it was the power supply.
So I contacted MSI and AMD for RMA and sent them all the emails between me and evga.
MSI and AMD both said they would take care of it.
Never again will I own anything EVGA.

I bought a used GTX 1660 Super on Ebay in 2022. This february shortly before the 3-year warranty expired, it died without any warning signs or visible damage. I learned that EVGA generously offers that warranty even when you are not the original buyer AND do not have the original receipt. All I had was the serial number and the private ebay sale info and that was enough to get an RMA number. I sent my card in and quickly got a working replacement that is still working in one of my PCs until today. So the usual "your mileage may very" applies, and maybe your title is a little bit too generalized.

I got a card with a stripped screw but it still works. I put the wrong thermal pad sizes and couldn’t figure out why it was running a bit hotter. At the time unfortunately there was 0 info on the vram thermal pad sizes. So I stripped the screw opening it to many times wondering what I did wrong. Is this possible to fix?

Sometimes I think Tony is stoned while making these videos. Not that there's anything wrong with that 😂

Never had any issues with EVGA RMA, my 3090TI crapped out on me, and they replaced it, they didn't even bother a fix, they straight up sent me a new card, have been buying EVGA for years and years, they have been good to me.

Have you ever tried holding a piece of solder wick with hot tweezers? It’s a little slower than normal, but it’s gentler on the pads.

It’s kinda like using a paintbrush

If mask is flaking away, being gentle wont help.
But yeah, that method is good.

I get that EVGA rework is bad for the board. But it's also free. It sucks, but free is free, and if evga screws up on the refurb, it can be sent back to evga for another replacement so long as the warranty date hasn't expired. It's a rock and a hard place situation. Could get it professionally serviced, but for a few hundred bucks it's a very hard pill to swallow.

really sucks to see this. i purchased a used 3080 ti xc3 (not working) from ebay back in april of this year. it still had 3 months of warranty and customer service was able to transfer the warranty to my name right away (before i received the gpu). i sent the bad one for rma upon arrival and was sent a brand new sealed a few days later. i've been praising evga since then but damn ... this is just horrible.
