    I wish people wouldn't think bad about other people. People change in a matter of days and years so think positive about yourself and the person you're thinking about thank you and God bless

    7:07 Actually this is true only in reference to colourless diamonds. If we include colored diamonds such as red and blue, they are become the most expensive gemstones.

    while the water is clearly stuck to the surface of the leaf.

    there is one test needed.. a simple hardness test.. Diamond and silicon carbide are all by themselves in the 10 category of the Moh's scale of hardness..
    there's a visual method for identifying cut stones.. diamonds sparkle around the periphery.. the color and sparkle follow the planes of cleavage, which parallel the angle of the pavilion..
    use a known diamond and try to scratch the sample.. you won't hurt either stone

    Very interesting, informative and helpful video for all rocks and minerals explorers- thank you! Can a person use their breath to exhale onto a diamond to test it's genuine? Seems like that could work...?

    • @DiamantAgentur
      @DiamantAgentur  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      While it certainly does not qualify for a gemological test, many use it merely as an indicator whether it is a diamond or cubic zirconia. Especially in situations like flew markets when there is no gemological equipment at hand. The material properties of diamond and cubic zirconia differ notably when it comes to water/steam as you can see in the video.

    I don't believe this is a real diamond being smashed no way.

    • @buggsy5
      @buggsy5 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why not? The wholesale price of a diamond is only about 25% of what you pay retail. Surely, somewhere, someone could afford to budget a few hundred dollars (or even a few thousand) to get a stone for smashing.
      That hammer was overkill, a small brass hammer would have accomplished the same thing. There have been many diamonds broken when a jeweler gets careless and sets the prongs on a setting too tight.

      Diamonds are really hard not really strong, there is difference between hardness and strength. They are hard but also brittle
