I was gonna romance Sera on my F!Lavellan, but, since I generally flirt with everyone in the beginning, Cullen's reaction were so endearingly cute, I changed my mind.
I started out with a female elf, ready to romance Solas. I spoiled it for myself and watched a video, so my attention drew to Blackwall. I thought he was a noble sweetheart, but spoiled his romance for myself as well. Not fond of it. But Cullen? Holy hell, he's precious.

I agree entirely!!! I always laugh in the beginning of the game when you choose your race and the image of the Quinari female has long flowing hair but in the actual game you don't have that! 😂
It's really late, but I think it has something to do with long hair being more difficult in animation. Yeah, there are some lovely mods, but any long hair mod also moves like it got attacked by a full can of hairspray. By having short hair options, there's less need to focus on the hair movement since it in general moves less when shorter. In other words, it's easier to make realistic hair when it's short. This is just a guess, mind you, but that's the pattern I've noticed. What would be nice is more interesting options and less bald.

But yes, if you're a dual wielding rogue and you've got long flowing locks, you're going to cut off your own hair with some of those attacks, or it's going to get in the your eyes, etc etc.

XD But I actually romanced Cullen first! I didn't romance Solas until much much later (a year after I started playing the game). I never felt the pull of the Solas romance as I did with the Cullen romance. I can definitely see the appeal but I'm a huge cullenmancer through and through!

It's true that with the lore of DA a Lavellan couldn't really bring Cullen to meet her Clan. Honestly, depending on the Lavellan (which is headcanoned by the player), they wouldn't want to even romance Cullen or at least later on marry him. But that's with any DAI romance for Lavellan that isn't Solas, and even then he isn't Dalish (and he hates the Dalish). Like for Sera, I'd imagine a Lavellan who hates being Dalish and doesn't like the Creators, is very happy to give them up to be with Sera. Or the PC Lavellan who hates all shemlens is likely to not even look at anyone except Solas but even THEN does THAT Lavellan like Solas' fade walking and views on spirits? If yes, I'd imagine a very happy couple. My Ellana, my girl up there, is too completely changed by her being Herald and the Inquisition to go back to her Clan (which she saved and is now in Wycome) and continue her life from before, even if she hadn't romanced Cullen. In my mind she and Cullen settled in Kirkwall, since Varric made her a countess and gave her a house in Hightown (it's where she can do the most good and is located in the middle of everything to keep in touch with the most people). Also in my mind Clan Lavellan is more open minded enough that some of her clans mates still love her and contact her despite their disapproval of her husband. Her BFF Idrilla Lavellan (the one to romance Solas, you can see her in my video list) dgaf and loves Ellana no matter what. And it's that taboo you're talking about, that odd and very complicated dynamic, that makes me absolutely love Lavellan/Cullen, because with a Lavellan open to Cullen, we have this relationship that can be very messy and hard but ultimately love will win out. Plus it opens them both up to cultures that are foreign to them. (NOT that I'm saying anything bad about other romances or that other romances can't be complicated and messy, just that this one has a different flavor that I prefer.) This is what I love about DA, especially DAO and DAI, is that while we have to color within the lines they've made for us, we can color our DA world any color(s) we choose. (Sorry for the essay, lol, I'm just very passionate about my OTP of DA, it' makes me really happy, which I'm sure your OTP does the same.)

They forget to prescribe my next lowered dose and it would be a week until they could get it sorted. Shit was hell. So I can't even imagine what something like lyrium withdrawal does to the body 😔. Anyway, point being, if my experience was anything near his the last thing I would want to be is hugged and touched. Everything was like sensory overload with constant buzzing in your head, your muscles ache and feel so restless and you're over stimulated by everything. So I imagine lyrium withdrawal is a 1000x worse... Idk if it was purposely done by the writers, but while the sentiment would most certainly be appreciated he probably needed to be left alone in a dark and quiet room for a bit.

Iron Bull because I feel bad for him no matter how you end his personal mission with the Chargers living or dying. Blackwall just needed a friend. Sera was not even an option. I finally decided Cullen because I grew up with him throughout the series. His entire story was a sad one, he needed to be able to have someone by his side. It's like he was...lost. Struggling without Lyrium and plagued by nightmares. He needed someone to hold onto that was more than just a friend.
The romance of Cullen is both interesting, great, and quite wonderful. The funny moment of him is trying to get his words to come out right, but only to either screw it up or say it wrong. Overall, he is the nice guy that truly gets the claim: "Wonderful man till the end."

I always pick mages because, well, mainly because I love Fiona and can't dream of ever killing her. I did once just to see what picking templars was like and I can't do it again. It's a great quest and I love Calpernia as an enemy but...poor Fiona (Alistair's actual momma). The double good thing about picking mages though is all the extra time with Cullen and I feel he grows more regarding mages that way. But you do you! If you love templars, pick templars! Be happy first and foremost! ;)

ari crown Are you talking about during starting area? That was indeed a mod called "immersive starting armor" from nexus mods. It's great for all races, but especially for elves. But the awesome thing is that you can get that schematic for that armor by defeating the highland revenger in emprise du lion. Level 23 dragon (it's a tier 3 armor so it's good for end game stuff). After that I just use the gold nug. Hope that helps! 💚✨
Except Cullen dies at the end and having him not on Lyrium actually doesn't affect his leadership abilities at all (and no one dies because of it). You do you, but I could never have Cullen go back on Lyrium, it gives you his worst ending, unless you tell him (in a romance) that after the Inquisition you'd find a safer way for him to quit. But as I said, you do you!
Lee Koga I did the 'we'll find a safer way after everything' dialogue option yeah, but I read online that it'd affect leadership skills, so just got him back on it. He was never really a major character for me - because I spent all my time with Dorian 😂 - so I wasn't really all that invested in him, but I think next play through I'll try keeping him off and see what happens

you cannot play ps3 games on ps4 I am unsure of the ability to get digital ports. for quite a while the only way to set your ps4 story was to go online and set it. the first one doesn't play like this one and the 2nd one plays more like this one.

That is only there if your Warden was a circle mage, like mine was (a Surana FYI), which is what I have in the keep. As for the question regarding Hawke? Talk to Cullen right after meeting Hawke and there should be a option to ask him. Also, Cullen talks about DA2 stuff right after the Coin/Lake scene and/or Perseverance. Just gotta ask him to talk about himself some more. Are those the parts you're wondering about?

God, the Cullen romance is just so wholesome! He's probably gonna be my canon DA:I romance for the world state in the next game. I am kinda torn between him and Dorian, but Dorian can still be happy with Bull in that version - that way everyone gets their happy end! :D (Might have to check out a world state with Dorian as the canon romance just once, though xD)

I am so torn. Romanced Cullen in my first playthrough with my Lavellan and sorta instinctively chose to save the Templars, which I loved, but seeing this... maybe I should chose the mages with her after all. :,D
I always pick mages because, well, mainly because I love Fiona and can't dream of ever killing her. I did once just to see what picking templars was like and I can't do it again. It's a great quest and I love Calpernia as an enemy but...poor Fiona (Alistair's actual momma). The double good thing about picking mages though is all the extra time with Cullen and I feel he grows more regarding mages that way. But you do you! If you love templars, pick templars! Be happy first and foremost! ;)

@@Tenshi252 I feel that. The only other characters I've ever successfully romanced in Origins and Inquisition are Morrigan and Josephine but they didn't have to compete in the same way.

ari crown Are you talking about during starting area? That was indeed a mod called "immersive starting armor" from nexus mods. It's great for all races, but especially for elves. But the awesome thing is that you can get that schematic for that armor by defeating the highland revenger in emprise du lion. Level 23 dragon (it's a tier 3 armor so it's good for end game stuff). After that I just use the gold nug. Hope that helps! 💚✨

The only reason I got Cullen back on lyrium was so he could lead properly and no one would die at the end of the game
Except Cullen dies at the end and having him not on Lyrium actually doesn't affect his leadership abilities at all (and no one dies because of it). You do you, but I could never have Cullen go back on Lyrium, it gives you his worst ending, unless you tell him (in a romance) that after the Inquisition you'd find a safer way for him to quit. But as I said, you do you!
Lee Koga I did the 'we'll find a safer way after everything' dialogue option yeah, but I read online that it'd affect leadership skills, so just got him back on it. He was never really a major character for me - because I spent all my time with Dorian 😂 - so I wasn't really all that invested in him, but I think next play through I'll try keeping him off and see what happens
Okay, cool! And I get that, the first time I played I spent my time on only Cullen because he was my LI. I wasn't sure if "we'll find a safer" way was for non romance or not and I'm glad it's for both. And yes, please try it! :)

There's one question that haven't been answered: How come Cullen doesn't romance Dwarves or Qunari?
The only thing I can think of is that it's some sort of callback to Origins. He will have a crush on a female circle mage, and circle mages can only be elves or humans. Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure you can play DAI on PS4, but for the other games I'm not too sure, sorry.
you cannot play ps3 games on ps4 I am unsure of the ability to get digital ports. for quite a while the only way to set your ps4 story was to go online and set it. the first one doesn't play like this one and the 2nd one plays more like this one.

Which part? I believe you're talking about when she asked about the Hero of Ferelden being a circle mage? That is only there if your Warden was a circle mage, like mine was (a Surana FYI), which is what I have in the keep. As for the question regarding Hawke? Talk to Cullen right after meeting Hawke and there should be a option to ask him. Also, Cullen talks about DA2 stuff right after the Coin/Lake scene and/or Perseverance. Just gotta ask him to talk about himself some more. Are those the parts you're wondering about?
