I'm fully convinced after seeing this and the 1st stream that this remake had the worst marketing for a video game I've ever seen Literally almost everything about the game looked unappealing before release aside from the 3rd person camera
Funny how marketing can greatly affect the opinions of a game or movie/show to the point where once people start to see it for themselves; They begin to realize it was actually better than originally thought. Like I remember a number of people absolutely dreading this remake to the point many were convinced it's effectively dead in water(hah in-water joke)and some even denounced it outright. And then over the past month or two once these final trailers came out and the reviews started pouring in, things got switched up, that even those amongst the naysayers went: "huh, this remake went in a better direction than I first thought in thd beginning-"
Clearly I don't speak for the majority, but my expectations started very low and with each new trailer they just kept going up. By the time we got to the final trailer I knew I was preordering the deluxe version and was certain the game would be mostly good. And thankfully what we got was very good hahaha
To that guy Pat apologized to in the beginning, I also got the mod team mad at me when Peach was playing Slay the Princess and asked if we were a monster and I pointed out that your hand shows you had claws and scales. Called me out for spoiling and banned me.
The subtle difference I love here is that the better Pat gets at the combat the more James seems *completely* bought in to the crazy. The grunts of what used to be fear and anxiety when he stomps take on more of a “I’m reviling in this kind of catharsis” thing. But I could just be crazy lol
I was reading chat stream before this and noticed he explicitly said to Pat right before Pat timed him out that he was trolling Although i didn't notice him prior to that only people callin' him out lmao
@@digitalbooklett9357Apparently it was someone else who made the reference to the old LP while this guy was doing some trolling of his own. A reddit post conflated the two incidents and that's why he apologized to the wrong guy.

1:43:50 You can't show higher framerates in a screenshot. You can't show a game running at 240 fps on TH-cam or Tiktok. That's why the marketing team always wants the shiniest thing possible to show off. It sucks, but it's not going to get any better with how depreciated demos have become.
I think this works really well, it's not trying to be a remake. It's a modern retelling of silent hill 2, but they aren't even shying away from the fact that you can't remake silent hill 2, exactly. And some choices in this retelling are honestly, improvements on the original, while others are reasonable reinterpretations that manage to evoke similar themes and vibes.
