Made sure to keep as much of the plot as I could in this one. Feel like this game deserves it. Woolie VS Silent Hill 3 coming soon! And by soon I probably mean in 1.5 months NEXT: A sequel you won't OBJECT to
I love that this compilation goes through the guys being weirded out by the atmosphere of the game, tem starting to have fun with the horror, going full QA mode on the red pyramid thing, getting into the atmosphere again and then BOOM, soul crushed by the letter.
im glad that the one thing that people keep in these SH2 compilations, whether its the old SBFP ones or woolie's playthrough, is the letter being _always_ included in full. it's integral
@@scary_fu Do you know what triggers it? Because I just played the ps2 version for the first time recently and it triggered. It also did on the enhanced edition when I played and I watched a couple of playthroughs that had it too
@@ssjbargainsale taking a few steps into the room triggers it. its a random one and three chance it’ll play. so it wont always happen EDIT: i’m talking about the PS2 greatest hits version. not the emulator, and definitely not the HD collection version (pretty sure it ain’t even in that)
this is a fantastic example of someones real first time impressions of SH2 that even the old LPs didn't get cuz pat was already coming at it as a "knowledgeable master", such as he is
I've lost count how many times I watched the old LP but man, I still can't deal with Mary's letter and when James relives their final conversation in the last hallway. The voice acting is so good and brutal, I feel so depressed every time. It's part of the reason I think the remake is just DOA, I just don't think it could match up with what we got 20+ years ago.
genuinely not to be a contrarian or a bootlicker, the OG will always be #1 in my heart, but after seeing some of the footage, I _am_ genuinely looking forward to seeing more remake _Laura._ She's basically the one part of the OG where I couldn't convince myself that the awkward delivery was, like, intentional and actually genius. I liked the new take on the scene w/ her before the Flesh Lips, and I'm excited to see her respond to James telling her the truth Honestly the only reason I really see to be against the remake on principle (i can't think of enough examples of a disliked remake actually culturally displacing the original to really be worried about people "forgetting" the OG) is that it might spur Konami on to finally "do something" about the availability of the Enhanced Edition... which would really, _really_ suck 💦
“The Face/Off move.” I never put that together until Reggie said it, 😂 The shopping cart reminds me of that bit where Woolie gets his mail in a creepy basement with a friend.
I think that’s only for SH3. Since at the time Woolie thought that 2 was the only game screwed by the HD collection and that the port of 3 was more or less fine.
I wish Woolie would playthrough Silent Hill 4. But I know Pat’s extreme dislike for the game probably convinced him to stay away from it to some extent
@@Slukig i dunno. i was able to get through sh2 more or less fine and am doing ok on sh3. but sh4 i have died in the first station level four times because of those effing ghosts that stick to you like ffs
A true achievement in story telling. The jump from PS1 to PS2 for an unspoiled mind was universe shattering. The game will be 23 years at the time of remake release and still packs a punch.
Sometimes I think about how Death Stranding has all of the old Silent Hill plot elements that are confusing explained, like Mary and Maria being Bridget and Amelie or Mama/Lockne and the BT Baby being extremely similar to Heather Mason/Alessa and Cheryl
Honestly, parts of Death Stranding feel as though it was built off from the groundwork of the abandoned silent hills project. Like how all BT seem to focus on birth to a degree due to all BT being connected to an umbilical chord, which might have been an idea in place in Silent Hills for punishment monsters for the MC to be infant-themed in some way due to the talking fetus and how the character was implied to have killed his pregnant wife I think. Like Kojima didnt want the idea to go to waste, or maybe it was something brought up that inspired Death Stranding later.

Monica Taylor Horgan:
* gives one of the best VA performances in video games *

It doesn't matter how many times I hear it, I can't get through the full letter reading without getting a little teary.
it's crazy how much of the game lives or dies on her performance. It's good either way but she really pushes it over the edge into brilliance.

It's a proof that we do share some kind of internal hive mind, perhaps one day we will use to the fullest in the future.
I love that the Groose theme will forever be the theme of bumbling.
I love the fact woolie tried to save Maria with the power of QA antics
If anyone deserved the Maria ending it was Woolie in that moment.
53:48 " I see myself in that room...
QA....
You promised you would never come back woolie...
But you did."
48:15 "I don't like that, you don't know what's a hard commit" The door that leads to this hallway is locked with the area's two main puzzle items
Its woolie. He also spent like 15 minutes trying to test if he can kill pyramid head to prevent a scripted cutscene
29:15 Wild that they managed to trigger this. Apparently it's a SUPER Rare occurrence.

I think that the pin-ups in the Dog ending broke Woolie and Reggie more than the crippling themes of depression and death

It can't and it won't, but people will suck it off regardless

Woolies journey through this series was awesome.
god I had forgotten about the hospital basement QA journey. what a legendary moment
Honestly i’m a little bummed that the bit of “Pat saving the play-through” isn’t in here lol

That was for SH3. Woolie thought the HD collection was ok for 3 only for Pat to gently remind him that wasn't the case.

By silent hill 4 you mean homecoming or the Room?
@@youcantseeme3456 Of course he means the game that quite literally has the number 4 in it's title, that being The Room

the Rare WoolieVs Dark Mode stream
Man, watching this really shows how much better the Remake is over the original. Like it's not even close!
While i do love when woolie and pat team up for LPs it is nice to occasionally see a full blind experience

I guess that if you really want to record yourself playing in the dark scary games, you need to use aris set up
I'm 2 minutes in and Reggie has ALREADY RUINED this game for me with that Face-Off comment 😂😂
I hope they play the remake
