Will this pro-chef inspired galley improve our cooking or will we be eating cucumber sammies all the way to Alaska? We had fun with this one folks! Thanks for watching, give it a thumbs up and let us know what you think!👇
Nice work, I have a 1988 C 30, #5267, in Gibsons, BC. Upgraded icebox to 12V/110 Ac refrigeration, added a Dorm fridge under the steps. It has a propane oven stove combo. I added mirrored plastic sliders, on the cabinets, and a clear acrylic backsplash above the teak behind the sink.
Hey Franklin! We're onboard hull #1543, stoked to hear that you're also out on a C30! Good call on the acrylic backsplash, I bet that keeps the saloon cushions much cleaner! We are planning on putting a 12v condenser unit in the icebox eventually, it's part of the master build plans but first we need some decent solar :) Hope to catch you out there one day!
looks amazing! I love the vinyl backsplash against the teak wood counters & the wood door. so excited for your next adventure! I hope the beers turn out super crisp and cold 🥰
Lookin kinda snazzy eh? Thanks Caroline! Stoked we don’t have to haul out the ol’camper cooktop to have a cuppa! New adventure starts next week, you’ll enjoy the next one! 🐋
Just found your channel and enjoying it! you may want to consider adding episode #'s so that it is easier for newbies to figure out where we are in the story line. Thanks
Ahoy! So glad you found us and that you’re enjoying the vids! If you go to the ‘Playlist’ Tab on our channel page you’ll find Sailing Season’s 1,2 and 3 sequentially in order there for easy viewing. Cheers!!
Kudos on your project with so many 'green boating' elements! Insulating, repurposing and the joy of DIY on a solid vintage boat. #thegreenboater #onemillionboaterpledge
Thanks so much! It was pretty satisfying to bring that stainless steel back to life and repurpose the other elements. Now we feel like we have a million dollar galley :)
You're supposed to have that vertical loop to prevent a following seas wave from flooding your engine. You might want to look up and add an anti-siphon valve too. Protect your engine, you've only for one! Great video, awesome gallery Reno! I'm a new sub.
Thanks mate! There is a vertical loop in the exhaust in the port lazarette when the exhaust hose comes up to the level of the deck/hull joint before heading aft and exiting out the transom. The anti siphon valve is also installed coming off the elbow riser. Stoked you found us, thank you for subscribing!
Very cool. I cry now over my stock Catalina 30. The stainless countertops and cool backsplash are much envied on my end. I did make a gimballing electric cooktop and electric countertop oven. Spent $1300 for 560AH or lLifePO4 that fits in the starboard battery box. So I went all electric cooking and with a little solar I don't really have to worry about it too much! No propane and pretty much endless cooking.
Would you walk up to someone on a dock in a working class marina laboring tirelessly on their boat and say this to their face? I think not, quit trolling the comments dude
2:09 shot of the 40' fred armor I looked at a few months ago really wanted to buy it but interest rates on the credit line doubled. Needs to be completly gutted, I had lots of plans would of taken a few years but I have a place for it on land.,.
haha awesome! Are you on Vancouver Island as well? Nice boat, sounds like it would be a real big project! Awesome to have a place to be able to work on it on land!
We gained storage! Before the exhaust hose and second sink took up heaps of unused space! Removing those opened up an entire cupboard space - we opted to put recycling and garbage bins in there. Big improvement 👍🏽
Thank you friend! Yes we installed the foot pump and we love it! Keeps things simple, helps to conserve water and allows you to use two hands! Great stuff!
We use this stove underway! A gimbaled propane marine stove is about half the cost of our entire boat! One like that is only needed if you’re doing long passages, like crossing the Pacific. Our boat is a coastal cruiser, not a blue water vessel so there’s no need for such a stove! The Inside Passage is very protected, the seas are calm and we anchor every night!
That's awesome! I've subscribed! And watching your vids just realized you are pretty close to our home port in Ladysmith! Our hull #2696 I believe. I Just installed a diesel furnace last week!
@84Rabbitz how cool is that! Stoked to have you join us on the journey! We purchased our boat in French Creek, close to you, but have since sailed it up to the Broughtons. We’re overwintering in Alert Bay. Way to get the heat installed🔥We have that on our list of things to do this Fall as well. Did you install a Dickenson or other?
@@AllisonandJamesSailing actually I went with a Chinese diesel forced air unit mounted in the port locker. Still have some tidying up to do but we used it last weekend and it works amazing!!! Almost too warm. The lowest setting and we still had to crack the hatch. Much cheaper option to the traditional wall mounts.
Right on! We installed one of those last year, in the the port locker as well! It got us thru some chilly damp Fall mornings no problem. Great for around these parts and where you are!
Hahah French Creek is a working marina, everyone there is working on the dock and no one gives a shit about tracking dust dirt or otter crap onto their boat 😂

awesome, new friend here
Welcome aboard friend!
What’s this ?! A stainless steel countertop in your galley ? Movin’ on up y’all 😎 looks fantastic !
hahah straight from the recycle bin! Gotta love that! Far from fancy but hey, in our minds, Uintah us is a little super yacht!
Great finish with lots of improvements, will be watching for the food that comes out of the new galley.
Thank you Peter! Hopefully it will be lots of fresh seafood! ;)
The sound of that beer cracking though 🤤
Important addition! Nice work 👌
It's quite the Pavlovian soundbite! haha
Jessica approved, yeeuss! Thanks for watching bud!

Outstanding content! Excellent storytelling and your video skills get better with each episode.
Thank you!!!!🤍 So very kind & generous. That really means so much to us. Cheers!
How about a drop cloth on the docks ? “ OH ! That’s not my dock ! !!

Beautiful galley restoration! Cheers! I look forward to following along on your adventures to Alaska.
Always lovely hearing from you, we're really excited to bring you along with us! Hope you have a great holiday season!
@@AllisonandJamesSailing you as well!
It turned out great!
Cheers mate! We're pretty stoked with how it turned out!
So beautiful! So did you gain or lose storage? Can’t wait to see your next cruising videos to see how the galley worked for you ♥️♥️

Beautiful work! Are you keeping the manual foot pedal pump for the sink?

Did you consider putting the cook top on a swivel so you can use it under way?

Leaving grinding dust on the docks for other people to track on to there boats So self centered , must be environmentalists ?
