The way nagito talks is more airy, almost like he has a harder time breathing. His laughs are wheezy, and he gasps for air a lot. This would make sense considering his illness. He also hums and giggles a lot, theres nearly a full minute of just him giggling! His voice is more feminine and raspy, which also makes sense as hes more androgynous/feminine than the other guys. His way of speaking both in tone and vocabulary shows how hes more dramatic, and possibly ties into his love of reading. Basically, his VA did an amazing job!!

I dropped the theory in the 6th chapter's investigation, of course, at the beginning it was stronger, specially because of the dialogue he had with byakuya and akane (who I thought was asahina undercover -this theory didn't last long- )
His JPN voice gives justice to his character. The ENG version just makes him sound like an asshole 24/7 ;_; (Though the VA DID improve in DRAE so honestly I think it was a matter of voice direction). The JPN voice has that ethereal and creepy vibe to it, which really fits what Komaeda represents.

(The "向" part of his name could mean either "yonder" or "facing", but I see it used more often in the latter context. The "日” part of his name means "sun" or "day". I think the Nagito's Japanese voice is better than the English one (and yes I played the English version first and I still think Japanese is better). It fits his character and personality better. At first he sounds harmless and normal but after he goes crazy he sounds much deeper and breathy. He sounds mysterious and seductive that fits his "creepy" personality. He also sounds like he is always gasping for air and having a lot of trouble breathing properly which fits since he is diagnosed with lymphoma and dementia. He sounds a little more feminine which also fits him since he isn't that manly like at all. I mean, compare him to Hajime, someone who is really manly. In the English one he sounds like a 40 year old man trying to sound like a teenager. It does kinda fit him but not the same as his Japanese one. Also Megumi is a great singer and even made multiple character songs for him. She has the voice of an angel!

I think the Nagito's Japanese voice is better than the English one (and yes I played the English version first and I still think Japanese is better). It fits his character and personality better. At first he sounds harmless and normal but after he goes crazy he sounds much deeper and breathy. He sounds mysterious and seductive that fits his "creepy" personality. He also sounds like he is always gasping for air and having a lot of trouble breathing properly which fits since he is diagnosed with lymphoma and dementia. He sounds a little more feminine which also fits him since he isn't that manly like at all. I mean, compare him to Hajime, someone who is really manly.
In the English one he sounds like a 40 year old man trying to sound like a teenager. It does kinda fit him but not the same as his Japanese one. Also Megumi is a great singer and even made multiple character songs for him. She has the voice of an angel!

I used to thought that nagito was secretly Makoto because of the letters of their names. If you take the letters from "Nagito Komae(da) " except for 2 letters you can rearrange them to: "Makoto Naegi". The first time I saw nagito's name make me crazy because of that and I was dissapointed if was just maybe a coincidence.
Actually you don't even have to remove those two letters for it to work.
Naegi Makoto da means I'm Makoto Naegi.
