I love the original and watch it every year. Recently I wanted to re watch the 1994 version since I had only seen it once when I was a kid. The first instance of Susan explaining that she doesn't believe in Santa was very telling. In the original she just stated it as if it were a fact. In the new one, she had like a deep sorrow or regret for not believing in it. Your reviews were great. Very accurate. That beard is glorious.
Excellent analysis. Regarding the 1947 ending, though, I think we can assume that they purchased the house. Fred says to Doris "The sign says it's for sale. We can't let her (Susan) down." I like to think that Kris Kringle was responsible, but like you said, it was subtle and perhaps ambiguous. I never saw the 1994 version, but didn't Susan also specifically want a father and baby brother?
I used to love the original 1947 version. Then I saw the 1994 version, and it totally won my heart. I couldn't watch the 1947 version anymore. It seemed too 'old fashioned.'
im doing this for school can u help me ? the question is "Compare and contrast the 1947 Version with the 1994 version in a 5 paragraph essay. How are they the same? How are they different? Be Specific! Which one did you like better why?" can u help me make a 5 paragraph essay, I'm in highschool and this is really stressful, and i subbed and liked. thanks!
For specifics check out the original on disney+ and I was able to find the remake on hulu. The big differences I laid out in the video. Ex: the product placement, the portrayals of santa, and the vagueness of the original santa's powers vs the more affirmative remake. One big difference that I didn't want to spoil in the video is how the trials are presented, so keep an eye out for that. Best of luck!

I grew up watching the 1994 version so I have a biased towards it
I definitely agree with the points you made. I like the original a lot better.
I just got the 1994 version off Netflix and I was wondering if I should send it back. I've never seen it

The 1994 version is a joke. Not worth the time. Stick with the best, which is the original.
