- The 1947 original is a historical holiday classic and the 1994 remake penned by John Hughes also has a lot of respect. But which one has more heart and cleverness? Take a gander at this video! Don't forget to comment and like!
While I begrudgingly give you the arguments for Elizabeth & Dylan, I have to disagree regarding the story.
The remake tries too hard with the attack. Evil corporate conspirators hoping to goad Kris is less believable (and very 90s filmaking) than two bickering coworkers. In the original, Kris is defending Alfred's honor not his own, and the addition of the city's kids mourning feels like forced pathos.
I also think the post office ending is more heart-warming (just look at Kris' face) and gives the victory more to Fred and Kris, rather than the judge.
The quick wedding and magically paid for house are also overly saccharine and less believable than the original's quieter love story. Not paying for the house also gives Kris' true identity more ambiguity.
Great review and comparison!
Just discovered your channel 1hour ago new subbie here keep the great content coming.
Brian Bedford was the guy who voiced Disney's Robin Hood.
It feels weird that we have a movie where Matilda once met John Hammond.
I prefer the old one
Will you make more flowers in the attic videos
I'm thinking about going back and redubbing the older ones, since they were my first videos and I was inexperienced with voicing. So as you probably know if you listened to them, I sounded like an even squeakier Mickey Mouse at the time and am horribly embarrassed.
Nice to finally see you! Love your channel keep up the great work! 👍🏽😁
So that's what you look like!! Cool!!
That's right! From now on, I'll be showing myself on camera.
Awesome!!!
I think next, I'm going to do "War Of The Worlds". The Nostalgia Critic was going to do that one back in 2010, but it was cancelled because he felt both films were too underwhelming. I figured maybe if I tried looking at it as "which film is less underwhelming" there'd be enough for a review. And I was right!
@@vcandrewscritiquer I never seen war of the worlds
