    Hey Folks,
    In this video we're going to share our RV Camping at Palmetto Island State Park in Abbeville, Louisiana. Its way past the Cajun Village in Sorrento and a few miles south of Abbeville Louisiana (at the bottom of the boot) right in the middle of Cajun Country. While at the RV campground we did our usual campground drive thru and site walk around. As we drive through the campground we'll share our experiences in the area. We did a tour of Avery Island, the home of Tabasco where we had a very nice lunch then drove through the Jungle Gardens. We even saw a couple of alligators. Join us on a drive through historic Abbeville and acres of crawfish farms.
    Sit back with some crawfish and check out this video to see another beautiful Louisiana State Park Campground.
    We do these campground reviews and drive though video of every place we go rv camping to help as many fellow RVers as possible. If you find value in this video, and our channel, go ahead and hit the subscribe button. It’s free to subscribe and hit that notification bell too so you’ll know when we upload our next video:) We’d appreciate it as it helps other RVers to see our videos. We do these videos of every campground, every site, everytime.

    We are located near there in Butte La Rose. It isn't a state park but it's rich with history and weekend warriors. They have a big pavillion and events. It's called Cajun Heritage Rv park.Check events for the coming fall season. Their rabbit and deer cook off is an amazing and fun time sha!

    A helpful hint is to show each site instead of the road.

      Hey Randy, thanks for watching our video.
      I understand completely, we try to capture as much of the campground as possible in one pass. For some campgrounds its easy to focus on one side and some campgrounds are a little more difficult. We try to be mindful that some folks are out there for the peace and quiet and a diesel truck driving around the area can be annoying. We're always trying to refine the videos to show the sites as best as we can without being a nuisance but in some cases it proves to be quite a challenge. For our next video we will definitely remember your helpful hint.👍👍
      Thanks Alan for watching and thanks for the comment.

      We are surprised at some of the campgrounds we find in Louisiana (or close to home) too. Like we mention in the video, its nice to see Louisiana offering some quality campgrounds. We enjoy being helpful and we like to have fun doing it. 😄
      Thank you for watching them. ☺

    Hey, thanks for the video but when you show campsites, could you actually show the campsite rather than just the road? Thanks.

      Hey Boondocker
      Since this video we try to show more of the campsites and less road. We also consider the privacy of those camping and make judgment calls.
      Thanks for watching our video, rvboondocker🙂

    Hey guys just came across your channel. Just subscribed and looking forward your camping adventures. My husband and I just started a channel as well. We are tent campers and are looking forward to upgrading to an RV so we can really hit the road.

    Aside from New Orleans might you recommend the best state park to visit in Louisiana?

    • @RetroRVRecon
      @RetroRVRecon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi 2021
      In my opinion Lake Claiborne State Park or Lake D'Arbonne State Park are in the running for our top campground. However, all of the state parks we've been to offer something special. I don't think we could really choose one. We find its hard to go wrong at any of them.
      Thanks, 2021, for watching our video and for the question.😀

    How are the sites, are they level or uneven. which site in your option is the best?

    • @RetroRVRecon
      @RetroRVRecon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Bob
      From what I can tell all of the sites are level and in good shape. I know 83 was level.👍
      As far as the best site...When we go back I think we'll reserve site #66. It doesn't have a sewer connection but it's relatively large and out of the way. However, we feel like any site would be just fine.
      Thanks, Bob, for watching our video and we hope it helps you to find a nice spot.🙂
      Happy Trails & Happy Camping, Bob!
