RV Camping at Lake D'Arbonne State Park in Farmerville, Louisiana
Hey Folks,
In this this video we're going to share our RV Camping at Lake D'Arbonne State Park in Farmerville, Louisiana. This Louisiana State Park is 45 minutes northwest of Monroe Louisiana, 30 minutes from the Arkansas state line and only ten minutes away from Farmerville, where you can find most anything you may need to enjoy your camping weekend. Your vehicle or phone navigation should get you there without any issues. Our Retro 189R was parked on a great lake site (site 44) that was a short walk to the fishing pier. Lake D'Arbonne is knonw for being one of the best crappie fishing lakes. We cetainly feel like its one of the best state park campgrounds in Louisiana. We do our usual campground drive thru and site walk around, and we also share some of the fun things we did during our stay in the area. There are several hiking trails located inside of Lake D'Arbonne State Park and lake access for a great fishing experience too.
We do a campground review and drive though video to help as many fellow RVers as possible so if you find value in this video, and our channel, go ahead and hit the subscribe button. It’s free to subscribe and hit that notification bell too so you’ll know when we upload our next video:) We’d appreciate it as it helps other RVers to see our videos. Thank you so very much for watching. We sincerely appreciate your support!

When y’all crossed the Mississippi River, north up around the bend there is an island where the river rerouted. There were two big sycamore trees that had fell into the river. I used to set throw lines out and catch 30 , 40 & 50 lb Opelousas catfish.
Hey James, WOW! those are some huge catfish! Do you know if that area is accessible to the public? If I wanted to drive inside of the river's levee?
Thanks for the information James and thanks for watching our video too!

You passed a gem on the way to Darbone right outside of Ruston. It's call Lincoln Parish Park. A hidden treasure. Check it out. Love watching!
Hey Mark.
Wow!!
I just did a quick search and yup!! It looks like a nice place. Angel and I were just talking about making another trip to north Louisiana in that area, I think we'll look to book a site. Thanks for the suggestion, sometimes its tough to find little gems like that.
(Hm, MT Bike Trails... we may have to leave the "lectrics" home and load up the "Treks"!!)
Thank again Mark, and thanks for watching our video!

@@RetroRVRecon During the Holidays, Lincoln Parish Park lights up with vintage campers and there are cars for miles slowly passing through. It would be cool to see Y'alls camper there.
😀👍
Hey folks.
Thanks for watching!!🙂

They also have beautiful cabins to rent and a fellowship hall. We did our family reunions there and the cabins are different sizes to fit your family needs. Great video.
Hey witchiepooh2219.
Thanks for sharing that information. This is a nice campground all around. We can't wait to return there.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting on our video!

That looks like a beautiful park! Lots of great campsites for our truck camper.
Absolutely, there was a truck camper on the inside loop when we arrived. You folks will definitely enjoy it.

Wow, Transylvania! We used to pass through there when my wife’s grandmother was living. She lived in Arkansas and we’d always get a kick out of driving through Transylvania with the creepy school and Pines Motel. Transylvania was one our first stops for gas after Hurricane Katrina. Most places were sold out but the little station in Transylvania had fuel. I think the old store is closed now. Thanks for that part of the video. It brought back memories.
We're glad you have fun memories of Transylvania. Years ago I drove through the little town at night so I never got a good look at the town. When I saw how close we were I just had to pass through. I think the store is still open but barely. The school is still creepy though😳.
Thanks for watching our video and supporting our channel!🙂

Thanks you well done video, thanks for calling out the site numbers headed to 55 tomorrow.
Hey Jim, you're welcome.
How was your trip? You had the hiking trail right behind your site.
Thanks for watching, Jim.
Hope it was enjoyable for you too.

Hi that’s my hometown! Lots of good family memories made at that state park. The damage in the park is from a tornado that struck the park in March 2021. Over 100 trees were uprooted in the state park but thankfully no one was killed. Most of the where that new pavilion is located was destroyed. Where the playground is destroyed there were many picnic tables and two other pavilions that people could rent for get togethers. That really large one you saw is new. Where are y’all from?
Hey Class C Chaos, you sure have a nice home town campground to go back to 😀.
We were wondering about the damage, the park sure did recover well. I think about going back with a pirogue to get in those good fish'n spots 😁.
Thanks Class C Chaos for the comment and thanks for watching our video too.

It doesn't look like you have a surge protector you should probably get one
Hey Bob
Your right, I've been putting it off. I'll grab one this weekend.
Thanks for that Bob.☺
We're a community of campers.👍👍

Tried to send on fb but says you won’t see it. Couldn’t comment on Lake D’arborne. Was the site next to y’all 42? More level side to side than 44 was? Did you notice any others that were either more level side to side or really bad? I’m not good at leveling side to side . Lol guess it’s time to figure it out. We are looking to spend 2 weeks in July there as home base and go into Texas and Arkansas.
Hey Anna
No, the sites next to us were 029 and 045. Site 029 is the site I mentioned right in the beginning of the site walk around. However, site 029 and 045 are both excellent sites. They are level enough for me side-to-side but back to front has an incline, not really unusual for campsites near water. FYI, site 042 nowhere near the water but that doesn't mean it isn't nice. I found that most sites at this campground to be nice.
Y'all are staying two weeks there!?!? I think I smell a fish fry coming on!😁 😉🐟🎣
We hope yall enjoy it as much as we did.
Thanks, Anna, for watching our video and for the question.
(and thanks for letting us know you had an issue commenting)

This is a very beautiful campground, but I do need sewage, and very little sites except camp host and maybe handicap would have it, if I’m not mistaken, and that is a negative drawback to alot of people
Hey Randy
Yes it is, both a beautiful campground and a negative not having full hook-ups. We find if we're only spending a weekend (just two of us) water and electric will do. But I do agree, no sewer hook-up is drawback.😒
Thanks Randy for watching our video and for the comment.
Mike and Angel🙂
What time of the year was this?
Hey Harry.
I think this was late August 2022. We enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching our video, Harry!

Could u let us know if they have cabins to rent or how to reach the state park
www.lastateparks.com/parks-preserves/lake-darbonne-state-park
Here is the link to the State Park, we didn't really look into the cabins as well as the campsites. I hope this helps🙂
Thank you for watching our video and we hope you find a nice cabin for an awesome experience.
