I have had my Explorer Pro 170 for a little over a year now. We put 200 miles on it last week on the Great Sacandaga Lake in New York. We averaged about 6.4 MPG with all types of riding. The longest single run we have done is 81 miles. A typical day might be a 30-40 mile run on a local river, drop anchor, inflate some large lounging tubes or our inflatable island, swim, eat and have a great time. I have a little over 1400 miles on it now. Not much by your standards but much more than friends I know with PWC’s. The storage is amazing! We load this ski up. I think it handles great and the 25-50 MPH acceleration is impressive. We ride it pretty hard at times and it has been flawless so far. My girlfriend and I are 67 years old, but revert back to 27 year olds when out on our Explorer. We have a 100 plus mile ocean trip planned if the weather cooperates. I personally would never consider the supercharged model.
Have you had any issues with it, Do you have to have 2 batteries for the Explorer, Does the Playing Music and having the GPS on runs your batteries down?...sorry for so many questions...it's that am doing some research on the 170 and am trying to get as much info as possible....Thanks!!

I just got my 230 explorer pro and I am so stoked. I took the windshield off and added a GTX gray fairing which matches perfectly. Been on supercharged skis my whole life so I felt like going down to the 170 would have been too slow. Sending you an email right now on the lights and front rack system
Well done with this one. Thorough, informative, easy to understand. I will say it leaves a little to be desired in comparing it to other models, like a GTI or GTX, but this is presumably for the people who've already settled on an Explorer, so it's a me issue 😆 Love hearing that you'll be selling the lighting kit, I've wanted to do the same with my GTR for a while. Not the same upper deck/hood design, but I think I can probably MacGyver it onto mine. Can't wait to pick one up! Lastly, interested to see what your thoughts are on Sea-Doo's product launch this year. Seems to be fishing-related, so input from a former FishPro owner is always nice to have. Cheers!
That front rack system is awesome. That “Cheese Plate” design could easily have some 1/4”-20 and 3/8” mounting points for camera gear! It would stabilize your video content even more!
The 170 is my future choice. I just hope it doesn't break down on me while on a trip. We'd like to get 2 of the 170's but the wife says she doesn't want to ride them far. I like your set with lights too.
The ep 230 is totally worth it. This thing is a blast and at eco mode I get 140-50 miles. At sport and wot I get 85-90 miles. You control everything….or you don’t. I get to 70mph on mine and I can tell you, it’s a blast. I can also get better distance than the 170 if I can control myself. I recommend the 230.

I have hundreds of hours in all conditions on the 170 and even on that I couldn’t touch what you’re saying here. The 230 is a great ski, but nobody is getting 90 miles WOT on one, nor will it hit 70.
Please do! Even better if you can use an app or a GPS to track your ride to show speed, time and distance. Starting with a full tank then showing how much fuel you had to add at the end of the ride to top back off to full that would be great
