Very nice fix Chris! New fuel and resetting the adaptations will definitely help. I'm very surprised the 'newer' BMW all have very bad fuel pumps. My 2009 335i has a bad pump too, at only 55k miles. I have got 2AAF shadow codes lately :-( .Dutch regards, Nico.
Mmmm well atleast you read the warning signs! Saw a lot of those codes on failed, and bout-to-fail units. At one point the dealer had to reset DME's to get the code cleared after replacing the pump. Good luck friend!
On this X5 why would the pump on the passenger side be completely empty and the passenger side be full. Gas gauge says close to a half tank? Truck won’t start but the pump is pumping? Weak pump? Code is low fuel and a few P0171 174
@@pugs1377 Really? I’ve heard the N54 is less reliable. Well I hope it’s not the case, I got a 435i recently and it has around 100k miles. I’m going to look into it some more
@@doingyamom some of the external parts on the n54(water pump, injectors and high pressure fuel pump) are less reliable but internal wise the n54 was way over built. Bmw cheaped out on the n55 internals
More X5 content! Awesome.
Omg I want you work on my car you genuinely sound so knowledgeable
Nice man, Thank you for sharing, its supper nice!

Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I have this exact model starts but dies and my scanner diagnosis tells me that there's no communication between computer to fuel pump control module.
Same thing happened to this one after the video, I ended switching to Foxwell and that one has lasted me much longer already.
What are the
wires that dangle form the fuel pump, once you get it out? Where does it go?

Hello Chris where is the fuel pump control module on this model?
I think it's in the trunk around the spare tire area, there's some videos/forum posts on the internet you may be able to search for. Good luck!
Awesome! Too bad it's an n55
What’s wrong with the N55 if I may ask?
@@doingyamom not as reliable as n54, they eat rod bearings

You didn't unplug the battery
Change the battery to clear the extra codes due to a low battery
