    The orbital mechanics of the solar system are quite stable for now, but a number of slight changes could mess things up for earth, like the thought of a rogue planet entering our system is terrifying

    • @Stoicsaiyan
      @Stoicsaiyan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But the thing is that that’s extremely unlikely for a rogue planet to hit us this channel is and other space channels are a bunch of bs the chances of things like black holes and rogue planets of hitting us are practically zero. Because there is currently no rogue planet in our solar system and the chances of it happening is pretty much zero the closest a thing of earth being destroyed is by its own native inhabitants us humans. Our solar system is extremely stable and it will most certainly stay that way.

    Sumerian creation story is exactly something like that. According to that the world was a lifeless water planet. Then nibirru came and hit it with one of his weapons. That weapon was one of its moons I believe. I always wonder why only Pangea? Why it didn’t happen in multiple areas?
    It’s so interesting that story doesn’t use the scientific language to point out events, however when you replace the gods and the monsters with planets it exactly looks like a big cosmic event.

    I had an extremely vivid dream of a rogue planet hitting earth a few days ago. First I just heard a bunch of "whoa look at that" and "what the hell" turning into "oh my god" and then just a lot of sobbing and screaming all around me. It looked exactly like the clip of mercury in this video. Happened a lot faster in my dream though. I'm not saying it was a revelation or anything, I don't think dreams always tell the future but more so the current state of one's mind. I think it was just due to anxiety and astrophobia in general. Just wierd that I dreamt about it and then see this video.

    These odds are way out there. Videos like this downscale the universe to a great degree. Earth is far more likely to fall victim to an internal threat as it has with each of the great extinction events. I also believe there are these kind of pathways in space that make some collisions completely impossible to happen at all. Think throwing a baseball leftfield, and how it is impossible for it to land in the right field.

Why would Mercury hitting earth cause an asteroid belt instead of the two merging to become one like it supposedly did in the distant past? Is it that Theia’s size caused a merge? It was speed a factor? Would love to hear the answers from more learned TH-camrs!

    9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
    10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
    11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
    12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. KJV

      Some theories is that the great mountain burning with fire... is a volcano.
      And in the sea... so something like Iceland, Hawaiian Islands, La Palma.
      Though could also be an asteroid as it burns up in our atmosphere hmm.
      I heard there's a supervolcano capable of blocking the sun, stars and moon - though there's several that are possible: Yellowstone, then the one in Southern California, Campi Flegri in Italy

    The good or bad part of this is that our solar system is moving constantly. YES GUYS, those little pictures of perfect circular orbits are incorrect. The planets rather than moving perfectly circling do spirals as our solar system moves

    our galaxy is so old its unlikely we are the first self aware beings in it, perhaps in our local area of the galaxy. perhaps not. we cant be first, we may be one of the youngest self aware beings in our galaxy. I believe life can develop, in one form or another, in the most unlikely places through-out the cosmos.

    • @rudra62
      @rudra62 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing is that we don't know how likely or unlikely life is to form, much less intelligent life. We have a sample size of 1 where life has formed. Has it, or can it, formed elsewhere? If it has, how did they get around or through the Great Filter - which also threatens human life on earth now.

    • @BennyHill8844
      @BennyHill8844 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rudra62 intelligent life is the key. intelligent life might be a very rare thing, thats why I said life in one form or another. the great filter people talk about might be what stops life from getting off its home planet. in other words the same level of intelligence needed to leave your home planet is the same level that destroys that same being. we won't know until and if we leave our planet. furthermore I believe the technology needed to travel through space may be impossible for us AND other beings in the cosmos. it might be impossible to travel through space-time. God may have designed the universe in such way. who knows the truth? we can only speculate at this point.

    • @coolcosmic4351
      @coolcosmic4351 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BennyHill8844 I've said intelligent life would be a rare thing before to. I support that theory because of the amount of crazy bad stuff happening along with good stuff every second outside of earths own atmosphere.

    I'm gonna go back to the part Mercury would eventually end up nudging Earth out of its orbit and far out into the deep darkness of space. What are the likely chances it could make it through the asteroid belt without being blown to smithereens and eventually killing off all life on it?
