Hello, thank you for making this video and explaining how all this works.
I have a tip for everyone that will make using a program with parameters like this MUCH nicer.
When you want to change a parameter, place the cursor just to the right of the digit of the number that you want to change. Now press and hold the ALT key, and then press the Up and Down arrow keys. The digit to the left of the cursor will increment or decrement, and the Render display will update immediately.
You are also able to hold ALT and then use your scroll-wheel to change digits, though you may need to enable this in the Preferences/Editor settings first.
Numbers will go negative or positive in the way that you would expect, and pressing ALT-Right or ALT-Left will move the cursor to a different digit, and even add zeros on the right if needed.
    I LOVE OpenSCAD!

As a programmer and a 3D modeller this is like the best of both worlds :)
    Thanks for the nice explanation!

This is the first tutorial I've seen that shows the (correct) use of `difference` to subtract more than one thing from the basis thing. Thanks for clueing me in on that!

GREAT! Thanks for your great introduction. I'm using Freecad a lot, but Openscad simply doesn't let me get away unharmed.
