    I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

    I recently bought this beauty to blow my car for detailing and I LOVE IT. I can get the whole car done on 1 5Ah battery. Got spares just in case. Love the bracket on de bottom so you can u the blower like a turretgun and upside down. Best feauture has to be the trigger lock/ cruise control. And it blows/moves so much air! Great piece!

    I’ve owned mine since they first released the new model and my experience has been the same as yours. I bought it to take to the job to clean up the sawdust from my clients driveways. What I didn’t plan on doing was using it around the house so much. Although there are far more powerful battery blowers I’ve found that it’s has ample power for blowing dry leaves and cleaning the sidewalks after mowing. I usually only use the gas blower in the fall when there’s tons of wet leaves.

    Received it today and can’t believe how much air flow it has! Wow! I was expecting much less for some reason. Even with the tube and end attachment off, it’s really powerful. Very happy with my purchase, I’ll use it a lot!

    I have the same experience with my Worx 20 Amp... however the DeWalt with one battery looks to cost about $200 with one battery and charger. I got my Worx 20 Amp with 2 batteries, charger... AND a line trimmer for $149 from Amazon... great deal

      Just picked up one of these tonight with a 6.0AH, 4.0AH, charger, and bag for $200. Pretty good deal I feel. I got a 1/4 and 1/2 Dewalt impact with only a 2.0AH battery so I needed more juice for sure!

    Good morning. I bought a 722 blower the other day, primarily based upon your recommendation. I put a 10 ah 21700 battery that I recently built. I should get more than 20 minutes of work out of it. For big jobs I will continue to use my Stihl BG56CE blower. I really like the light weight of the 722, compared to the Stihl. Te Stihl is stronger than the DeWalt but only marginally. However, for blowing off the rear deck and front porch, walks and driveway it is sufficient.

    I had the previous model axial blower fail just after the 3 year warranty period. Took it apart and the motor, controller, trigger and battery connections are all connected with solder. No plugs. Makes it very difficult to isolate the problem. I bought one just like you have and hoping for better results. I only use for blowing off the driveway maybe 40 feet long and occasionally blow extra air thru the smoke detector when I burn toast to clear the alarm.

    People that complain about the run time on this awesome blower just don’t understand how to use it properly and what battery they should be using for the particular job.

    • @DirtFarmerJay
      @DirtFarmerJay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would tend to agree with you. I find that using a 5 or 6 ah battery works well for our setting, and I use the "cruise-control" throttle setting to run the unit at about 2/3rds. This reduces blowback and takes care of most everything I am working to clear. I use short blasts of max to move stubborn items along. Thanks for your insight! Best, DFJ

      I noticed the battery is on your blower is an XR (not a standard 5Ah)
      Is that what you get 20 minutes runtime with?
      How long do standard 5Ah batteries run on full? 10 minutes?
      How about any others you tested?
      Thanks

    Waitley 5.0ah batteries are 29.99 on Amazon. 41/2 star rating.
    Like you I was very surprised that it was powerful enough to use for most of my blowing needs. I seldom start the Stihl blower up anymore, maybe in the fall. Though this puts out as much air as most of the older gas blowers. It's VERY impressive.
    $100 in batteries and you could use this all day with charging.
    I formly used an older tech B&D 40v blower (and other tools) and these 20v tools are WAY better.
    And 20v batteries can last 10 years. I have 20v b&d that are from 2011.

    Is your Dewalt still working after one more year? Mine quit, despite modest, light usage. My 15 year-old Stihl gasoline leaf blower is still going strong with much heavier use. Judging from online comments this seems to be a widespread experience with Dewalt leaf blowers - they die after 1-2 years.

    • @DirtFarmerJay
      @DirtFarmerJay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, indeed. The unit is still going strong and we use it ongoing. In fact we use it to help clean out gutters as well as blowing smoke down into gopher runs for pest control. It's a great tool that is served as well and doesn't appear to have any signs of stopping. Sorry to hear of your negative experience. That certainly has not been ours.

    Great review, I just purchased the same blower and I love everything except that it has a very high pitched whine at high speed. Does yours do this as well? It's so ear piercing that I'll probably return it.

    • @DirtFarmerJay
      @DirtFarmerJay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad to be of help. Indeed, these types of blowers, with an inline high velocity fan, move a lot of air in a very small space. This makes for various pitches, some unpleasant. I don't tend to run my blower at ultra-high speed, but only in bursts as needed. I hope this helps! Best, DFJ

    • @emort6
      @emort6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DirtFarmerJay I'll take that as a possible yes...with an excuse?!...are you a politician? I recently used my dads ego blower with the same type of "inline high velocity fan" with over 700 cfm and it had no high pitched whine at all. I'm really disappointed that dewalt would sell such a poor product since I've invested in their batteries.
