that seams the most likely reason to me since I was not sick and we split the meal evenly. I even was all heres 3 for you and 3 for me till the pot was empty so it's not like meet or cactus on one side of pot was uncooked and got him and not me

If you cut more than one type of meat on the table you made if u didn't wash it really good it will give you food poisoning
It was the raccoon fat. It gave him the runs.
Maybe it didnt have to do with the food being undercooked, but spoiled
He got food poisoning by using the same table when he cut the raccoon it still had bacteria and the he put the cactus

Yesterday I watched the 20 Episodes in 10 hours straight and went to bed at 4am. The night was short and I remember having a pretty odd dream about sitting with you at the campfire and drinking medium delicious racoon, crab, crawfish, rabbit soup. Never the less, was worth it, 10/10, would do again. You guys are cool dudes and earned a new subscriber. Love from Germany.

Must have been the culprit.
I think it’s very very possible that he got some sort of food poisoning. Usually cooking food will kill off any bacteria or pathogens that may be in the meat but when you put cooked food, such as the cooked, ready to eat cactus in this case, on the same table that you processed raw meat it causes cross-contamination which is one of the highest causes of food sicknesses. I don’t claim to be an expert but I am a culinary major in college and have taken many many classes that cover this type of stuff. I’d love to answer any questions anybody has about this!

it could be the raw meat because you aren't supposed to leave raw meat out for more than four hours but it is also possible that the grease was the cause of it.

I camp with my father alot and he makes the meals. Half the time I would be really I'll. Hed do things like not washing his hands. Wasnt until I started making him tht it stopped

I live in Texas but yet that wasn't enough to prepare me for the environment when I did my one month away from civilization challenge ( personal goals kind of like ex: I can say the ABC backwards )
I stayed with my cousin in a small one-bedroom cabin that we built by hand over the years of visiting this hunting ground... we had power Banks that were rechargeable by solar power but that didn't do us no good because our mobile devices did not work where we were located. The source of entertainment that we had were the music that we had on our phone previously and just mindlessly walking around the forest looking for food. Hunting for whitetail deer is hard and keeping quiet it's also even harder I don't know if you ever experienced this but the silent gets the point where you can hear your blood flow... the only entertainment that I had were seeing squirrels Chase each other on the tree me not being able to do anything because I had a 30-6 Springfield rifle poor thing would have just blown up if I even tried just made me crazy. It kind of blows my mind that you don't show as much frustration as I experienced but yet again I am Young sooo.... idk overall the only things that we ate where to whitetail bucks an 6 pointer and a 9 pointer, 4 pikes with one of those being surprisingly a walleye really rare for we were at, 1 hog, 1 Doe despite game rules we were desperate for food, 6 catfish, and finally Wild vegetations such as Evergreen berries, wild blackberries, Evergreen Leafs for tea, tree sap. The most regrettable thing was not bringing enough toilet paper and taking a dip i a lake that had leeches. this was all done in the month of December where was really cold... Nvm my story not that you'll probably never even read it I hope you really did enjoy your stay here in Texas despite our crazy weather.

It is amazingly captivating.... While I've camped there many times.... Hardtimes have slowly taken a toll and kept me from returning... So......! Agave is good for treating burns and if you get a cut it can help heal you faster.

I'm guessing it was the Agave plant yesterday, he ate some of the raw plant. There are over 200 types of Agave plant some edible some not. Some are edible after cooking while others have poisonous sap that can cause liver and/or kidney failure when ingested. I don't think you had some with poisonous sap considering one with toxic sap immediately causes pain and burning upon contact with skin. Typically the skin will also turn red and may begin to develop blisters soon after exposure to agave. Which you would have noticed. There are variations of the Agave plant whose sap can cause skin irritation and/or digestive problems. It's likely when he ate the raw plant he ingested some of its sap.
Things it could be,
1. Is loosing so much weight and not eating as much as normal (sugar)
2. He ate some raw bit of that plant last episode
3. To much fat in meals that his body isn't used to
4. Home sick
5. Body had enough of the same food

Oh, actually that might be interesting. It's actually only really minorly poisonous, like most people have 0 reaction, but it can cause indigestion in diabetics. Maybe Chris is on the spectrum of diabetic, and fowler isn't.

I like mine fried with a bit of vinegar and a bit of a crunch. People say to cook thoroughly as basic they grow in the bowel of the forest. I have heard of people getting quite sick but not myself. What I'm saying is you barely ever see them washing the table. There has been all sorts of meat laid on that table. So even just touching with a bare hand, then say, they picked their teeth, they now have a cross contamination
Even washing it with water, without soap or some kind of bleach or something any kind of bacteria can stay there

it was the table, where you cut everything before the cooking and after its done. there is some dirt and blood and other stuff, maybe also the blade.

I think you guys should have a table for eating on and a separate table for processing critters, preferably away from the central part of the camp. Also you mentioned that you did not have water for the stew pot. Maybe the meat did not get cooked well enough and maybe he got a bit more dehydrated than was healthy. Dehydration can cause lots of issues.
