- Valorant’s newest duelist is almost here and he brings something to the game that we’ve never seen before. But is that a good thing?
Iso’s kit is pretty crazy, but we know how this goes. Either his abilities are so strong that he breaks the game, or he doesn’t make enough of an impact to matter. So, is Iso good? Or is he just another shitty agent like Deadlock?

Releasing a character for people to enjoy as casual players and not the top 1% ? That sounds amazing to me
valorant is one of the most focusing games on E-sports they can still make fun characters but they still gotta be actually worth picking in a match. and it is just like reyna, she is a character who everyone picks in normal competitive but in E-sports she is a joke since she doesnt bring any value to her team and her util sucks since she needs a kill to use 2 of her kit... in a match with everyone with god tier aim

Except casual players have gotten almost every agent since chamber's release, the only one being any good in pro play being fade.

I think this ult was designed as a counter to operators. The fact thzt you can hide behind the 2 walls forces the opponent to hit a nasty flick with its op. Not to mention that if you grabbed your shield beforehand he literally needs to hit you twice
Sounds quite limiting in design for an important ressource you can only pop every other round.
In any game, you will never have all characters be "balanced", especially if you continue to add more. There will always be some agents that are better, and therefore some agents that are bad. If iso fullfills a niche and isnt the messiah of all valorant agents, I think that would be ok and healthier than him being a game breaking keyboard smashing nightmare.
slight correction/detail most people missed: you get a free double tap automatically when ulting, so you are essentially wasting a double tap charge if you activate it before ult
Does the Double Tap stack?
While this may be true, entering ult with a double tap shield active pretty much guarantees Iso to win the duel and to extend double tap
@@fluffything7134 if you already have double tap activated before ulting it refreshes the durations, so if it has 4 seconds left before ult it refreshes back to 15 sec left

I consider Iso to be more of an aggressive initiator than a duelist.
how on earth do you consider him a initiator? his only initiator like ability is his Q. He obviously only fits the duelist role, nothing else.

@@rainer7556 his wall allows you to enter the site his throwing ability is basically like a toned down breach stun and his ult is also basically removes one defender from site for some time letting your team enter the site easily . and as far as i remember the job of an initiator is to help team enter a site so he is an initiator. riot doesnt know shit about roles and how to categorize them

Ive other discussions and I agree that while he does not fill the single duelist job he could be a really good secondary duelist. Also his ult seems amazing for making since you can just remove a player if say you aim at heaven and get rid of op
Might be a mix of an initiator type of playstyle so maybeeeee, just maybeee, Paper rex might use it as an aggressive playstyle
With his current kit, he will at least be more playable than Deadlock. Gonna try him out after unlocking him.
he brings a different kind of duelist, kinda like an "off-duelist" kind of role, in other words, you don't leave him to be a solo duelist.
also people keep forgetting that valorant is a hero shooter/tac fps hybrid, the weird agent abilities, like what Iso has, is part of the hero shooter aspect of the game

Reasons why Iso ult is so versatile:
It can:
Deny plant/defuse
Raze ult, jett ult, neon ult, chamber ult
Stall time
Since its on an actual part of the map you get teleported so far away that nor you or the enemy hears if they are defusing spike in that instance.
I'm waiting for the future Valorant with 30 agents or above with pick-ban on competitive games.. It'll be another kind of fun to watch pros create new agent compositions, new strats, and possibly better synergies between various agents..
But right now, Iso is really dumb because Valorant is the kind of game where you don't actually want to fight someone with 50/50 chance of winning, you always want to get those free kills, and deal tons of damage using your utils..
The best part about the ult is that it heals you to full. So in a case where you're one tap, it can be useful to let's say take someone guarding the spike so even if you lose it gives time for your teammates.
Well, at least his ult puts you in an advantage, considering the enemy only gets one wall, and he can only be someplace behind that wall, while you essentially have three walls length to appear from and try to win the fight
I just dont like how you need to shoot the shield in order to activate it, maybe its better if you get the shield after a 2 second delay and shoot it if you want to get the shield faster
He seems fun but I'm leaning towards pub stomper/deadlock tier
Not every agent needs to become meta. Most player play for fun and not to become pro.
your right, not every agent needs to become meta, but they cant just release 2 bad agents in a row, they shouldve atleast buffed deadlock by now
im a cypher main and i understand how deadlock mains feel, cypher used to be so fucking bad but the buffs helped him become one of the best sentinels

Bad/mid agents since his release: neon, harbor, gekko, deadlock, and now we have iso.

@@Lif__fy he has one of the lowest winrates in the game, he’s only used in pro play and even then, he can’t even be used as a primary controller. He has to fill in a secondary position on the two maps he’s used on and you called bro good 💀

3:40 double tap is auto activated during ult you don't need to pop it early

From the description made the ULT seems good at taking out opponent you already have and advantage against, which is pretty underwhelming for an ULT. I think a ressource that scarce should never be a "win more" kind of thing, ULT should be what gets you back when shit hits the fan or at least bring an advantage when there was none.
Where does your body go when you're in the 1v1?
If only iso has his shield up when ulting no matter you gained it first or not, his ult is still too risky
I'm saying this now. Too many heroes is one thing that killed overwatch. Too many champions is why I could never get into league. I'd rather them take one out when they add one or something
Iso ult is gonna be super cool when you need to defuse but dont know where the enemy is, and theres 2 of you. just ult and stall until your team defuses
Iso is reaaally easy to balance in my opinion here's an idea of what can be done to make him less underwhelming:
His one tap being such a high risk high reward ability should offer more for the risk taken so maybe a movement speed buff when the shield is active it's not like neon speed or brimmy's stimmy can make it a bit more useful and a stacking mechanic for his shield so if u kill someone when u have a shield an it isn't vroken yet you can stach the shield and take 2 shots instead of only one plus a timer reset
His shield might need a bit of a rework for example u should be able to place it without it oike moving and make it like harbor ult or omen Paranoia as in if u walk backward and use it it moves slower if u do it standing still it moves a bit faster and if u cast it while moving forward it move even faster his undercut is perfectly fine and his ult is actually ok some might think it's useless but u can pick someone off the spike with it so it's pretty good
Riot has added so much bullshit to this game, they had to make a whole ass agent to take an actual 1v1
He is bad because unlike every other dualist, he can't dip out of a fight.
Reyna: Dismiss
Jett: Dash
Raze: Satchel
Neon: Wall or speed or both
Phoenix: Wall
Yoru: TP
Iso: Nothing
Potentially, if Iso could stop is wall or rightclick to make it stay still, he could play around it and get a kill and survive the run back. Also, give him two walls, make it have the speed thing like harbor's ult has, and make the wall wider.

I think they should buff the duration of the double tal orb for about 3 seconds and make his wall wider, other than that he is pretty strong in his own way

they havent released a single strong on release character since fade and that was over a year ago, u could argue with harbor but he seems more annoying and situational than actually super powerfull
Honestly, why does every character have to have a movement ability?
This is why people like League of Legends, there are tons of abilities that aren’t the same Crowd Control bullshit or Shielding ability.
I feel that Valorant should create even more operators and revolve three kinds of metas around each of the operator types, then making certain guns meta and some getting needed would also be great.
I only played Valorant around the first and second season, but why would you want this game to be CSGO, but every operation has the same two boring abilities?
I'm just happy that everybody will be rushing to lock iso while i instalock Reyna every game without any competition.
Why is no one talking about iso ult on a post plant situation to further delay the defuse ?

I think something to consider is that double tap makes it 5 shots to kill with vandal to body or 2 headshots
Thats a big difference because past that 4th bullet on the vandal, the recoil can get a lil spicy sometimes and the timing difference will really throw you off since you be so used to that 1 shot headshot or the 4 body
His ult is a chump check, it looks fun
I think he'll be better than Deadlock, sadly, but I don't think he'll be used like the rest of the meta agents any time soon.
i think he’s just worse than deadlock, in the aspect of productiveness. deadlock at least stop the rush and confirm a kill with her abilities, but iso doesn’t create spaces as an initiator. BUT THE MAIN POINT IS, they promised to buff deadlock, but before they buff, they nerf it and publish a new agent, I don’t understand why it takes so long to wait for deadlock

Honestly if you try to make every agent meta. You are just gonna have the same stale meta over and over again. Iso seems like an agent that pros could utilize in some comps
I think a possible way to employ the confident them of iso in an effective way would have been something less like a fisher price Reyna and more of a shield bashing charger, though that doesn’t exactly fit his characters theme.

Y'all fucking insane if you think he won't be played on comps, he doubles the damage people take from any source, he could become the difference to make some combos easy, plus some more impact on 1v1's if your player is shining.
You say he's crap now but then a Pacific team starts using him and then dominate at a lan event with iso. Look at DRX and Paper Rex they brought some of the weaker agents into pro play and just shit on other teams.

as soon as i saw his abilities i knew he wasn't going to be viable or meta. even for duelists like reyna mains, his abilities mess up crosshair placements and peaking corners so he won't be good for kills and i don't see him entrying well. its more of a low elo or just for fun agent.
Iso is probably my favourite
If people play reyna on bind in pro play, then i think iso will see some play too
People that complains about having crazy ass abilities are the same ones that main reyna and never use blind and saves ult for valorant 2 release

I can only see him on haven, split or ascent but he'll only be meta if the meta agent on split, haven, or ascent gets nerfed or if split has more spam like ascents b main like a odin vulnerable, I guess eco value is also good for iso to be a good map if it has like long of haven and you can spam and the mid is like split where iso can ult to whole mid it will be better for him but the current maps doesn't fit him to be a meta comp on 1 map for riot to fix this fucked up agent he needs a new map ngl or let me decide after I see icebox new map

they should of gave him better abilities that pair well with his double tap rather than the shield and debuff. Though the shield and debuff may be good, I feel it limits his play making abilities as a duelist and more of a confident initiator rather than a duelist (Similar to chamber with the sentinel role).
Look ISO's kit is unique as hell ngl but we all know that pre nerf chamber was the real deal that rito gave to us. Pre nerfed chamber vs these new agents wont even stand against him 😆😆

Unlike Ms 24/7 Shield, ISO has a "Block 1 hit" shield & a small, forward moving shield who will barely protect teammates 90% of the round.

she is just not a good agent her abilities is easily counterable and cant hold flank (one of sentinels main role)
her wall is annoying first round but after that the enemy can just use their pistol to save primary ammo
gravinante just doesnt do anything since your just making the enemy crouch (it should atleast say you got someone like a kayo knife)
sonic sensors cant hold flank cause you can just shift past them making her the worst flank holder and the sonic sensors can get allies and you, she is just weak but a few tweaks and buffs will make her really good. gravinante should get a rework since its just not a good ability idea. sonic sensors should just activate if your way too close to it but still shifting. her wall should be extended abit more since alot of deadlock mains put walls with gaps in them

honestly i like characters that's for casual players. Having every single character able to hit sites fast is really boring and dull, especially when a new character changes the pro game and all of a sudden its basically a new game
I was excited when I heard the new agent was a duelist. After the reveal I am sadly disappointed
i dont know why everyones complaining about his ult? his ult literally helps him secure a kill which is what a duelist does also it doesn't give a guaranteed kill cause what if the other guy has better aim.

He is a duelist? With his ulti, his wall and his doubled damage on hit enemies I would have rather said he is more of an controller than a duelist. Like when someone goes on side, kill the first one and try to ulti the second one to stall time for the team.

Umm... he breaks one of the fundamental rules of the game (invalidating hits), he's Chamber 2.0 and will break the game.
This is literally the same as the takes people had about Chamber and Jett on release "x is just so much better"...
Better than OP characters like chamber where players would not just over use, but abuse his kit that broke the game. I prefer UP characters where riot slowly builds the character rather than cutting their utility like chamber.
When's another tech cracked? like talking about controllers and hall effect analog sticks? or even talk about Legion go and joy-cons that can be mouse.
The ult probably needs buff, it should pause the timer, the range at which it can grab enemy should be increased, and iso dies in the ult then instead of actually dying he comes back at half health

Why do they always rant when an agent is under powered? He is fun to play and it doesn't matter if he is low tier. Just remember there are many instances that low tier characters wins championships. Easier to fix an underpowered agent than a OP broken one.
Hes gonna be like Reyna. Great for solo fraggers in ranked etc, but probably not great in pro play. Which is fine.
No mobility or flash kills this agent for me, at least Reyna can flash and use her abilities instantly after a kill.
For me valorant need ban pick system now so other agent will be played to be more fun in pro valorant games

They created this agent bc of the sunset map I don't agree with Riot for adding an unnecessary agent the game is fine

you need to practice your reading skills again bro. they only delayed the damage window for the satchel, not the activation. You can still double satchel entry but it doesn't do damage anymore. double entry satchels isn't supposed to damage anyone anyway.
