      Yes that’s correct. Then they say… just don’t dive till you do have one. 😂🤦🏾‍♂️

      Definitely is! I love being out there alone. But having another buddy to watch your back is always superior! 🤙🏾

    Nice. I go to Kauai (from Oahu) about once per year to dive solo. Maybe next time I'll hit you up.

    Used to dive all of south side myself at times not once had a close encounter , depends on how you plan on your dives ! South side was my best place to dive since that’s where I grew up diving ! I know the grounds and a lot of places I dive no body knows till now ! Had a dive show long ago on local channel 6 Jkshow

      Hola my friend!
      Same here! Only recently been going out more with peeps. It’s fun to dive solo. The peace of it all, and the satisfaction of landing a good fish is much more intense. 🙌🏾

    Nice diving but be careful bro! I had a samba diving on my own once n made me realise how easy tragedies can happen!

    • @KanaWitDaMANA
      @KanaWitDaMANA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost had a samba once diving deep solo. Now I leave some O2 in reserve before coming up. And my hooks are well practiced. But I appreciate the advice! Thank you! 🙏🏾❤️

      @@KanaWitDaMANA yeah I always considered myself a safe diver but on the day it happened I had forgotten my watch n my recovery times were probably not long enough. I wasn't diving deep either which probably gave me a false sense of security 15-16m. I was working a reef edge continuously diving n had a big coral trout reef me up, soon as I untangled him n started heading up I realised I was in trouble! Luckily I knew about hook breaths cos I would probably have blacked out!

      @@fishhunter348 wow… sobering for sure! Thanks for the notice. I’ll definitely keep that in mind next time I dive solo. But yeah had an instance when I came up from a deep 27m dive and the hard hooks saved me. Definitely pushed it on that dive. From then on I’ve been keeping more in the tank before leaving the bottom. 🥴

      @KanaWitDaMANA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fishhunter348 even for shallow dives I’ve been repeating the exact same protocol I do when deep diving. 3 good hooks, and always ready to drop my belt and gun.

    nice uku - diving alone is always risky so please be careful! how did the wahanui taste?

    • @KanaWitDaMANA
      @KanaWitDaMANA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wahanui wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t bad. I sautéed it with a Japanese teriyaki bbq sauce. Pretty good if I didn’t have Uku to eat 😅
      And absolutely, I try my best and try always to dive with people. Not always possible though. 🤙🏾

    Ever try putting chum in the creek? It’s my favorite method of storing and using chum in water. After having too many bad experiences with bags of chum floating in the water and sharks I decided to start using the creek method. Works like a charm.

    • @KanaWitDaMANA
      @KanaWitDaMANA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve thought of it once. But never really took the chance to use it. Normally I don’t even use it for fish. I put extra supplies in there like flashers, defog, extra go pro etc… I might try it next time though! Not a bad idea! 🙌🏾
