A little solo mish out to the west of Kauai. Water was pretty clear, but mostly dead silent in the deep. Shallow was more productive by the ledges. Boat adventure with Elijah on the south of Kauai. Hey Kumukarl, nothing much going on outside of me just stock piling footage for more of a montage style vid. Gonna start working on it this week. Hopefully it should be out by next week. Honestly, just been lazy... 🤣🤣 BUT I just shot my PB Uku at 14.28lbs so I'm stoked and will have that video out with the montage soon

I agree, the tides bring through the current and the murk. Earlier this day it was murky on the inside. Possibly when the tide switched to low tide it sucked out the murky water to us. I guess the same effect goes with the fish action! Yeah, I knew it would be an epic fish, but I couldn't risk it. Thanks for the feedback! 🤙

Possibly! 🤣 I gave majority of it away. My friends and family smashed that fish. Still haven’t eaten my slab yet. But I bought another 2 shafts and have more shaft coming 😅🤙🏾

What type of dive watch are you using?
Salvimar One dive computer. It’s the cheapest one. But it works for what I need the most. Surface intervals. Check it out bro! Neptonics has it.

I keep rewatching this video and can’t believe how 🔥 your gun is. I’ve been looking at uncle Bryan’s and saw your video. Is your 100cm Unkos cuttlefish barrel ? And do you think a 110cm with a 16mm band is enough power for a 7.5mm shaft? I was hoping the added length could help make up the difference and wouldn’t need a double roller.
@@Kumukarl it’s good enough for sure! You would have to use Reactive 16mm bands which could be a little more snappy and difficult to load. Or 18mm progressive bands from Unko Brian. Both will work for most of the diving needs you need! 🤙🏾

Used to dive all of south side myself at times not once had a close encounter , depends on how you plan on your dives ! South side was my best place to dive since that’s where I grew up diving ! I know the grounds and a lot of places I dive no body knows till now ! Had a dive show long ago on local channel 6 Jkshow

Forgive my long rant comment, but I believe this is all part of their plan. All the BS “don’t dive alone” mantra is infused throughout all society because it fosters weakness. They don’t want strong people. It’s not conspiratorial. People should be encouraged to take risks. In fact, if you look at the financial world, everyone stipulates, “to have success you must takes risks”. But for some odd reason, cough cough, nobody can take minimal physical. The only way to fight is tune out all that bs, because that’s exactly what it is. Diving alone is perfectly fine and I’m even confident if one looked at stats of EXPERIENCED DIVERS, that solo divers would be safer than paired divers because they use their instincts and take less risks instead of relying on another party for their safety. Ok rant over haha.

Almost had a samba once diving deep solo. Now I leave some O2 in reserve before coming up. And my hooks are well practiced. But I appreciate the advice! Thank you! 🙏🏾❤️
@@KanaWitDaMANA yeah I always considered myself a safe diver but on the day it happened I had forgotten my watch n my recovery times were probably not long enough. I wasn't diving deep either which probably gave me a false sense of security 15-16m. I was working a reef edge continuously diving n had a big coral trout reef me up, soon as I untangled him n started heading up I realised I was in trouble! Luckily I knew about hook breaths cos I would probably have blacked out!

But yeah had an instance when I came up from a deep 27m dive and the hard hooks saved me. Definitely pushed it on that dive. From then on I’ve been keeping more in the tank before leaving the bottom. 🥴
@@fishhunter348 even for shallow dives I’ve been repeating the exact same protocol I do when deep diving. 3 good hooks, and always ready to drop my belt and gun.

Ever try putting chum in the creek? It’s my favorite method of storing and using chum in water. After having too many bad experiences with bags of chum floating in the water and sharks I decided to start using the creek method. Works like a charm.
I’ve thought of it once. But never really took the chance to use it. Normally I don’t even use it for fish. I put extra supplies in there like flashers, defog, extra go pro etc… I might try it next time though! Not a bad idea! 🙌🏾
