Gmt400s easy to fix and easy to upgrade with newer gm tech if one chooses. Take care of them they take care of you.

Semper Fi to your son. GMC looks good. I was a Marine in the 80's got out went trucking for 20yrs , now retired. Between the Corp and trucking the got used and abused. Thanks for the videos so I can still truck from the recliner. Safe trucking.

Great choice of tyres Steve, and l personally think staying with the original wheels is absolutely the right thing for that truck, that's a beautiful modern classic there and too many of them get hacked around and customised beyond all recognition, I respect your restraint and good taste in keeping it looking tasteful.
Some of the customised ones look like you'd need to wear a spinning bow tie and a squirty flower to drive them.
You kept that one classy 👍🏻

Steve, because you sanded to bare metal you should have used an etching primer to bind directly to the metal. A regular primer will not stick to shiny bare metal. The primer goes on after the etching primer.
After you put the truck outside you should have blown out the entire shop to get all the bodywork dust out and then wash the truck down and then dry it immediately so it doesn’t leave any rust marks.
I’m surprised you didn’t use base coat clear coat paint.
No one is interested what have you done oh that's right no one cares. We sprayed primer straight to metal long before etch primer was thought of with no issues. He done a good job it looks good and every one is happy why come on here dribbling on it's done finished and delivered. So run along and spread your negativity somewhere else we dont want to hear it ok.

Steve, You not use clear coat on the paint? I would of converted the rear to disc brakes & also change the leaf springs as they go flat. Change all the fluids including flushing the transmission fluid & replacing that filter. Flush & change power steering fluid & change brake fluid & rear differential fluid as it looks like a rear wheel drive. Rock Auto also sells parts for a decent price OEM & aftermarket check them out. Awesome job you guys are doing -Cheers!

Intake gaskets always leak, waterpump, thermostat. While the intakes off put a fuel pressure regulator valve in it. It's under the throttle body cover, attached to the spider injector

The only nice thing about the plastic fender guards being secured on the interior is, you don't have to worry about those cheap clip on plastic one's flying off that cost $120 a piece.
Have a 2015 jeep renegade with a missing plastic fender guard.
I think it's a 2015, could be off a year or two, newer or older.
Using that much paper and tape on that big of a paint job may seem like a lot, but it is better than painting an area you did not want painted and worth the time taken

Chances are the brake light is the ABS module .... they always go out and trigger the light. We deal with them all the time. It's just a matter of pulling the module and sending it in to get refurbished...similar to the dashes when they need repair

You never power wash a truck you just sanded down to metal it's gonna flash rust you clean it with solvent than tack cloth then immediately seal or prime it
