Thanks a lot. I'm always launching off into enthusiastic history sessions in discord with my guild, and how they GROAN... So it was fun to do it here for people who wanna know!
This was beautifully done seriously, thanks for doing this it really felt like I was sitting at a campfire listening to the tales of history 🧡 keep up the great work
So I just discovered this video, and I found out you didn't upload any guild wars content in the last two years, and that's too bad, because with you voice and way of telling the story, you have thee potential to be the lore daddy of GW2
@@Porcupinespeerit I don't see the map from 4:18 among them. For reference (since I know you might be looking at the comment from notifications or the comment part of Studio and thus lack context), the 4:18 map contains more parts of Pre-Searing Ascalon than is actually in the game (e.g. Nolani, Rin, Grendich, Surmia, Drascir, and so on). Like I said, it's really neat! I've also never seen it before, so that made me curious about it and its origins.
If the searing wasn't possible, the charr would've been held much longer, preventing the heroes of prophecy from ever needing to leave Ascalon. If they didn't, Vizier Khilbron (sp?) would've still been up to his shenanigans, and now unopposed, brought about cataclysm all over Tyria. And the Charr war machine developed very quickly in response to the rise of the dragons, which still would've happened. So depending on Kralkatorriks impact on the legions, they would've found a way to break the siege soon enough, while the besieged Ascalonians were pretty stagnant.
@@Porcupinespeerit @Speerit Well here a part of my version. Based on if my hero character a warrior ranger Ajax Everchoosen. Ajax on one of his mission's in north lands. After defeating all the Charr champions that protected the cauldron that I would cause the searing Ajax destroys it. (This could be via a hammer or he warns Ruick of What Charr were protecting and the destroy it.) However the searing cauldron is destroyed the timeline almost goes the same. The difference is the Charr shamans are at a lost as the titans will not be pleased the cauldron his destoryed. The Charr forces invading the Ascalon north lands and the cities and towns their are force to retreat. Most Charr don't even know why their retreating when the have numbers. Ajax and the army of Ascalon and his henchmen allies push the Charr out of Ascalon (also I believe all the buildings north of the wall are suppose to be all fixed up but were based off the sari g version due to pre searing being released after the searing version of the game) At this point the Charr armies still havebthe massive numbers to still invade Ascalon northlands but Abaddon he wanted to destroy Or home of the gods.So I believe he would have ordered the titans to get the Charr to go over the shiver peaks and Attack Or and of course Kyrta which is in the way to the sea. Ascalon is not the home of the gods its a land of harden humans and who are not using magic like toys where Orr and Kyrta do. And while Abaddon wants to beat all the humans the Ascalonian people and their heroes will just slow down rhe pan or even catch on of something is up. Plus Abadddon wants Off First. So the titans order the Charr shamans to order their admired to go across the shiver peaks. The Charr shamans don't know why their not going to invade Ascalon but the won't dare question their gods. But the shamans would believe maybe the r flanking Ascalon great wall on the west. Many Charr believe this to he the plan. But instead the Charr come to notice their not even going west their being pushed southward into Kyrta sacking the east half of Kyrta. Lions arch in this timeline is the city that gets sacked. The Kyrta kingdom survives of course as the Charr from lion arch and its coast launch the invasion of Ore however the did it in our timeline I assume it was a rushed one. The Kingdom of Orr rights the Charr but still loses and as a result the persons people and their king grow desperate. So the king of Ore turns too Vizier who unleashes the forbidden spell on Ore destroying his own people and the Land of orr. Including the Charr arrmies in orr. The Charr forces are really at loss in Kyrta many are demanding answers to why they sent their armies into orr instead of into less fortified shiver peaks which are held by the dwarfs and Ascalonian humans and with no big walls. But instead they do beat the orrains at great cost. Not long after the kytrans would drive the Charr armies back to the fear north thanks to the murssaut and the first members of the white mantel. Ascalon meanwhile thought the Charr were going to flank them when they learn Kyrta is under attack by charr. But an invasion in their west border never comes. The Charr are force to retreat. Ascalon is still safe and two years later we still go over the shiver peaks to Kyrta.
Great thoughts! I would mention that, backed by the mursaat, the white mantle would probably still give the charr a hard time, like they did during their first invasion. Especially if orr reinforced them. Meanwhile, the Ascalonians under Rurik would likely make hasty reclamation efforts over Drascir, their old capital, and begin a guerilla campaign ala ebon vanguard to cut charr supply lines. Not to mention the stone summit would be nailing their supply lines as well. Kryta is a great distance from the Charr homelands. Armies gotta eat, drink, sleep and unwind. And the further they are afield, the tougher that is. Think Xerxes and the Persians. He had to go through Thermopylae (sp?) because any other route was impractical due to his supply lines. The Charr would face a similar issue as Xerxes did both at the Hot Gates and at Marathon. It would be a truly awful decision to commit a full attack on kryta without first subduing Ascalon. Then again, you mentioned it was Abbadons influence, so maybe they aren't thinking clearly.
@@Porcupinespeerit Yes abaddon and the titans wanted For to get Off if the searing didn't happen they instead of ordering the Charr to attack Ascalon North lands they go around the Charr don't know this and thin their going to flank Ascalon I stead they attack Kyrta sack the east half and invade Off leaving many Charr to wonder why are they doing that. Any Charr who questions that dies. And yeah the Charr shamans ain't thinking clearly only they must obey the titans or they die and so the kill any Charr who dares Ask question why their not invading Ascalon west flank. And then they lose their military strength and gain litertary nothing.
@@Porcupinespeerit Instead of the last day dawns on the kingdom. "Another Day dawns on the Kingdom of Ascalon. It comes like any other day. People go about their day unaware of a threat that could destroy they hold dear. People who remember that day recall a warm Autumn morning. " Their is more to that I could add but that's part of my version of if Ascalon was not destoryed.
I too noted some clumsiness with the audio! I'm not very experienced with this kinda stuff. So I did try to key it down at times but I wasn't always successful. Thanks for watching and your kind words!
"Rally to me Ascalonians!" always gives me the chills when I hear it in gw2 fractal
The Ascalonians (I still hear that in my slow voice) are my absolute favorite corner of GW lore. Toughest humans there are.
@@Porcupinespeerit Damn right.
If I ever win the lottery I would pay the developers to make a pre searing expansion.
The actual guild wars would be interesting, although it would mostly be humans, so thats kinda lame.
awesome way how u broke down the story of ascalon and the charr.
Thanks a lot. I'm always launching off into enthusiastic history sessions in discord with my guild, and how they GROAN... So it was fun to do it here for people who wanna know!
Really enjoyed this, it's so well done! Definitely looking forward to more if you're gonna make them
Thanks a ton, I sure will.

Thats really nice of you to say, thank you!
This is very well made and really interesting to watch, I hope there will be more Guild Wars history lessons in the future!
That is just too dang kind. Thanks!
Great video ;) you should definitely make more ! It’s very interesting for someone like me who never read all the quest texts lol
I'm super passionate about Guild wars lore. I've been playing the series since 2007! I'll happily make more. Stay tuned friend!
@@Porcupinespeerit will do ;)
I wish you did more videos like that.
Thank you for your kind words. I moved and didn't have a good space to set up my computer and then time got away from me.
Wow I really wish you'd do more of these videos, this was great, thanks!
Hearing comments like that really makes me want to! Thank you so much.
That is truly a very nice summary - looking forward to more of those :)
Based on your comment and others here and on Reddit, I'm inclined to give them to you! Thanks!

That's for sure the nicest thing ive ever been told, thank you so much. Im going to take that very seriously.
Watched, subbed and liked. More like this, please.
Fantastic! Made my morning. Thanks a lot. I will.
I'm honored to be one of your earliest subscribers. This channel is going to boom, soon enough
High praise! The honor is mine, honestly. I hope you're right, but even if you're not, just one comment like that once in a while makes it worth it!
Great video! Very well put together :)
Thank you so much!
This is great!
First comment is a good one! You made my day!
Cool video
Cool viewer!
Where did the map from 4:18 come from? I've never seen it before, but it's really neat!
There's a reference page. wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_of_maps

You're absolutely right! The one in that list is less detailed. I might've found it on Google. 😄
This was freaking amazing. Thanks for the video ❤️
Sweet of you!

Good video, but try to keep the background music at a lower level. Sometimes your voice was hard to understand between the music. Keep up the work.
