This brings so much nostalgia.
Back in the day was way harder:
1. We used to pay someone to open the gate for you.
2. No vanguard quests so you had to die loads of time to chars to level them up and them kill them, the grind was so high.
Eventually after many many many runs you would get lvl 20 in presearing.
I remember the grind, I want nothing more than to play the game again on my old account but i have literally no idea what it was lol
@@JoshuaHill182I have my old account but it isn't the same... It's dead pretty much everywhere other than Kamadan because everybody is there just to sell stuff so they can upgrade in gw2... I hate gw2 it ruined the original
I agree, i also hate gw2. But i dont think gw1 is completely dead! I started playing again and within a few days i had a nearly full friend list and was part of a guild and alliance. Its in no means ALIVE! but its deffo not DEAD!@@four-twenty4205

It brings so much memories, came here to check out if there was still the charr map i thought they got rid of it for a solo escort quest or both existed one after the other and my memory is failing me, i'm glad it is still there, that was my favorite zone map of all game I love the Charr NPC looks of the game feels like end game ennemies, with pre-searing, due to his challenge and the meaning of leaving the most beautiful landscape of the game with no turning back.

started the title for the first time. Back in the day it was all about the no death survivor title for me im happy i can have both now 3rd attempt at not dying lvl 9 now. the guide has been helpful thx

A title i never got and thanks to the video im taking it up and adding it to my titles.

This has gotten so simple, was WAY harder back in the good old days when i got my title on my monk, a fun grind tho:)
if you plan on doing permanent presearing, you can take the "Footman Tate" quest from langmar. just do your charr runs for drops and level slowly from the higher lvl mobs on the way.
Also, a good idea is to lag 1 day behind with completing vanguard quests. dont complete the quest untill the next day becomes available to accept right after. this ensures that you have the vanguard buff up non-stop which is a huge armor boost.
Oh wow, this popped up on my feed and gave instant flashback 😂 i got a Wammo to LDoA too many years ago but the grind was absolutely destorying lol. Well worth the time when you get to stand in ascalon flexing the title 😅
Also old Ascalon and pre searing is the best map ever. Period.

I somehow always liked this tutorial content more than the rest of the game.
Pre-searing developed my entire preference for RPG feels before I ever even knew what the genre was. (Thanks, dad.)
Some extra tips.. you should complete the first quest Message from a Friend before you complete War Preparations or you won't be able to complete it afterwards. Same with completing War Preparations as if you do the profession quest first then you won't be able to complete it. So there's in total 3 quests you should complete in the beginning; Message from a Friend, War Preparations, and Test. Which is 750 XP and 10 gold in rewards.
If you don't want to grind the farmer Hamnet quest, which is arguable the fastest way to 20. If not in a hurry you can, grind the Hamnet quest npcs. Until level 16 or which every level you do all the quests, and then just switch and do the daily for the last couple of levels works nicely too. As I found the last few levels of grinding to be very annoying to me, as I hate grinding. The grinding in the early levels isn't so bad, as you can see the xp bar move. And it feels like you're doing something at least, and the later levels will feel terrible if you're not someone who can stand grinding.
Or as another option if time is no concern, level and do all the quests to level 10. Unlock the Vanguard quests, and simply to one each day.

I made a mistake and i done my quests before reaching 16lvl.What should do i to lvl up 16th lvl now? Best regards.
I did that for one character before the vanguard quests became available, At that time you needed to "death level your enemies". That meant you were killed over and over again and your opponents gained XP and levelled. Once your opponents levelled up to where you could get XP from killing them you killed them. Rince and repeat. By the end your death count would be in the thousands - 100k+. It meant to be AFK for hours as well (cause levelling your opponents took time). And you had to lure opponents to a revival shrine or you could not do it. Quite time consuming and complicated. Back then I searched for how to do it and found several youtube videos about how to do it. Now that way is obsolete, but back then it was the only way because their has been no natural opponent high enough to give XP up until level 20.
Having 2 accounts and 2 PCs and using the Vaguard quests is much easier. If you have a group of 2 characters (let's say one level 17 and the other level 10) the resulting opponents in those quests would not be top level but a bit lower. That means the lower character gets XP from opponents while the higher character gets mainly the quest rewards. But all in all the achievement is more easy to get. (This can be achieved by having a friend join you and return the favor as well.)
Gaining that title was a real chore before the Vanguard quest and now it is almost simple to get. It is even possible to get it now without dying ever (which gets you another title - or at least the first track to it.)

Im lvl 16 and the Vanguard quest give lvl 11 charr enemies, is this normal? they give 16xp....

go to options->interface. boom. everything move-able, resizeable, you even can change the ratio to some degree. love it.
The ironic thing about presearing; its a comfortable place to return to after doing everything else there is to do in GW1. Got 3 presearing-only toons and there's still a decent sized player base.
I didn't know you didn't need a GM anymore and I just left presearing at lvl 8 yesterday. Would've stuck around longer. Also never knew of the vanguard content

Question : what happens if you turn lv20 outside of Ascalon City ?
You don't get to flex to everyone in the city.
In don't get how I am supposed to defeat teh fricking chatr north of the wall. even the darn group closest to that (useless) Ben guy wrecks ass, and I try my best to use the terrain already... I only managed to kill one of those, and that with my stalker, the fire imp and that utterly useless NPC.

Didn't this use to be way harder? From what I recall, people literally had to die to mobs in order to level them (the mobs would gain xp from killing player); just so they could gain xp for killing them later on.

charr at the gate can be farmed by re-entering the north lands, so you don't run to city
Yeah, but you don't have Rurik with you then, do you? Might want to do that once you've gained some levels first.

could this be done also when this game were released? or it is a new thing they added the last years? cause i cant remember this
It could be done then but through different methods. Then you had to death lvl enemies to high enough lvl to net xp from them. Enemies gain control the same way you do and can lvl up.
Anyone else do this before the vanguard quests? Power level the char as the kill you on repeat then kill them.
12 year old me couldn't handle the death leveling, gave up at level 16. I think 30 year old me can tho. Do you still need two people to bear tame?

Im returning to the game after about 10 years. Decided I would try for this title. I have the weapons but not the imp when I use the /bonus command. Any idea why?
Do you have the EU Collectors Edition of Proph or the Complete Trilogy one? One comes with Weapons specific to it, and then the other comes with different weapons and the imp summoning stone.
@@lithiumwhiskey1891 I had the weapons not the imp. The imp would probably have made the the title much less frustrating.
Im trying to get the title for the 1st time and I think I screwed up coz at lvl 10 I complete all secondary quest's.. Im about to lvl 11 killing mobs and daily quest but im worried coz I think I cant complete the lvl 20

ya gotta let the Charr kill your character so in turn raise the Charr level by letting them gain experience from killing you. it was a fucking experience for sure.

Why is it important to reach lvl 20 in the city? Don't you just have to reach 20 pre-searing?
You can. But doing it in the city lets everyone else know you completed the challenge publicly.
